Agree 8.4/10 it's a beautiful film.

I wouldn't say it's funny, but it has its moments for humour which is nicely balanced with the melancholy.

Cast were all excellent but special mention to Barry Keoghan playing the kid Dominic, I thought he stole the show tbh.
I concur.

I thought it was really funny at times. Yes it's dark as well but the humour really got me. "What did he beat you with last time?" "A kettle I didn't mind so much but for the spout." <laugh>

Perhaps it's just me. <laugh>

And the throwing of the fingers at the door and what happens to the donkey. <laugh> There's a cow stood in his bedroom at one point FFS. I thought it was hilarious.

The dark humour was definitely funny. There were moments I genuinely laughed out. When he asks if he's ever seen his sister naked. And when he tells the bloke about his dad and the bread van. And the confessional scene <laugh>

Beautiful setting as well btw.

Yeah it's a great film, I agree on Keoghan as well, he's always good though.

Christmas tv has lost its magic

Everythin is probably on Netflix or Prime

on demand

there’s no anticipation

buying a copy of Radio times n TV times a week or so before so you can plan the Xmas viewing

I used to love that. My parents used to buy both and then the buzz of looking through those and what was on what day.

I skimmed across on the remote to the rest of today. It's all ****. Might play board games instead later and have Die Hard on in the background.

Good film imo, bit of a song and dance. All very chilled. What would you watch?

I dunno yet... I like Spurly's idea and might do an animation now instead.

But there's loads - Planes/Trains, Wonderful Life both on now, Die Hard, National Lampoon, Groundhog Day, Elf, Gremlins, Polar Express...

Btw I watched Spirited a couple of days ago. Decent enough Christmas fair with Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds 7.6/10

Gone for Guilermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio

looks good

just seen that there’s a He Man animation on Netflix

looks so ****…totally different to the original vibe

Rate Pinnochio after, I've been in two minds about watching it.

I think I'm going to do TinTin (the spielberg one). Haven't seen it in years.

Not a great list for me there, Lampoon's I love but we watch it every year. I got Pinnochio in my list. An animation I like watching at Christmas is The Fantastic Mr Fox.
