Watched 2 films on Netflix today Frosting which is a bizarre comedy that follows the evolution (fictitious) of the Pop Tart ... Melissa McCarthy and Amy Schumer... no more than a 5/10 and then Bullet Train a mad-cap Tarantinoesque romp with more than a nod to Pulp Fiction and with an ensemble cast (look out for the cameos) that is a lot of fun and warrants an 8/10 - not least for some incredible special effects...
Shogun - 7.9 Liked it a lot but falls short of saying I loved it. Despite the plot being decent as well as the acting, especially Jarvis who was great, it felt longed out at times and quite slow paced in some episodes.
How the fck have you watched this with subtitles? Fcking fck fckin cundbhRvhshxdfjfdbdsy%*=$;#!!! Put on City of God now. FFS
I can't remember tbh. I thought he wouldn't watch anything with subtitles. There's about a dozen films he now needs to get on.
Currently watching Tora Tora Tora on C4+1... cracking stuff considering they had no CGI ... obviously Dier Hard won't like it ...
Can't be arsed with a tv show that makes me read a condensed version of the book I read when I was a kid.
Shogun was an exception because I love Samurai related stuff - though I genuinely didn’t realise it was gonna be 80% Japanese, thought we might’ve had a “Last Samurai” style vibe . City of God can suck a fart.
Yabushige was class actually, I’ll give you that. Mariko was good and the actress is a rocket, she was also in that Monarch show recently. Torunaga was just a bit stiff throughout though for me, felt like they didn’t maximise what Hiroyuki Sanada could’ve done. He’s a real life Master Swordsman, would’ve been cool to have seen that a bit more.
