I'm currently watching Andor and it's pretty good but I wasn't a fan of The Mandaloriian and the Bobba Fett thing was pathetic. I might give the 2nd and 3rd seasons of the Mandaloriian a go.
I thought Andor was very good. It gets better and better and really kicks on after about episode 4 iirc. Looking forward to a second series which is rare for me.
Just seen Asteroid City on IPTV. Thought I'll check out the first 5 mins then turn it off bcos I got work tomorrow but... Ffs
I've got a whole load of paperwork. Real headfck stuff with deadlines for tomorrow. And the fact it's appeared on IPTV today and not a couple of days later. I may regret this
I've done 10 mins and the cast list is already incredible. I've turned it off reluctantly and will watch it on Friday. Defo the same mould as all Anderson films especially Grand Budapest. Fingers crossed it'll be as good.
Still yet to finish Andor, think I got to about episode four or five and it was a real struggle doing so. Slow, boring and **** all really happens. Not sure what people are seeing to say it's good. I might try and resume the final batch of episodes at some point but it feels like a massive chore. Second season of Mando I thought was great after a solid first season. Not seen the third yet, heard mixed reviews. Boba Fett was awful, which was a shame as on paper a Fett show sounded good.
Yeah Andor pics up right about where you stopped watching. They turned Bobba Fett into a do gooder pussy.
Yeah exactly that, was hoping he'd be a lot more ruthless and brutal, Mando ended up saving the show which says it all.
I can understand that, I think I hung with it bcos I really liked Rogue One and I wanted to know the backstory. As I said before once you get to where it all starts to connect together you appreciate the slow start I think. There's a few characters from New Hope who also have their backstory in there. I've not watched the other spin offs except Kenobi which I thought was also very good. Doesn't make any sense if you go by the films but still good
The Crowded Room. 7 episodes done so far, this really is a top series. Said it before, Tom Holland in this is excellent.
Asteroid City Wes has gone full Anderson on this flick tbh. All the vivid imaginary. All the Van Goghian artistry. All the massive talent. All the kooky dialogue. All the Andersonesque shìt you'd expect in a Wes Anderson film. But... For me, it just doesn't cut it. It struggles to hold you're attention or my attention as it were. I really wanted to love it but I got bored with it very quick. I actually found myself trying to spot the numerous Easter eggs he's laid into the film and hoping for the Roadrunner to make another appearance. All the cast are great. The look of the film is fantastic. The dialogue is sumptuous but it still falls flat. Imho a 6.5 and that's only because I'm a big Wes fan. If you're not, you won't enjoy this film.
