I reckon the 4th is neo trapped in his own purpose built matrix after making a deal with the machines to save zion. Like a personal prison designed to keep him in the dark about who he really is.

Its just a guess but i think thatll be the thing in this movie, neo remembering that he is in fact the one again. Basically a revamped version of the 1st

Left could actually pass as one of those crazy cat ladies next door who does improv theatre acting. Right literally looks like a bloke who lost a bet for a night out and had to dress up.

As for the plot of the new film, I reckon it's just John Wick becoming superhuman after taking some trippy drugs.

Tbf Burton set them off on the path to being darker. His Batman film was a psychologically different take on the ****e portrayed in previous incarnations of Batman.

Nah not for me. all the old ones are proper bubble gum even burtons.

Looking back yeh, but at the time it was darker and portrayed Batman as psychologically flawed/disturbed. In 1989 it was defo different to anything before it.

Not Burton's doing on his own, he was being true to the comics which were darker. People like Nolan just took it further.

Have to agree, not keen on Burton. I liked Beetlejuice as a youngun.

Just on Batman, thinking about it he made Batman darker (for its time) but what he didn't do was make the villains dark enough. I think that's where Nolan took it to another level.

Yeh thats kinda my point, watching the old ones is a bit like watching a cartoon for me at least.

Jim carey was the best of the old villains, pinguin a close 2nd, the rest are laughabke even jack Nicholsons joker imo.

nicholson is a perfect blend of 60’s comic joker and Nolan’s version.(personally)

best moment, the 4ft long handgun he pulls to shoot bat plane. Similar to Nolan scene with Ledger

Yeh i get that i just prefer the newer more realistic takes on the batman.

Dont think jacks joker was all that tbh. Fun at the time but too comic for me, but then the older movies are all like that imo.

I know what you're getting at tbf. The only thing I'd say is following that film you had the likes of Darkman and The Crow... all darker, more fcked up superhero films. The trend started there but it was at the beginning of the curve.
