Bloody enjoyed King Arthur legend of the sword The book of Henry, guardians of the galaxy 2, Ghost in the shell, justice league, and have not Laughed so much watching a film as I did watching Thor Ragnarok, the stone man was so funny I nearly Wet my ****ing nicks......
Just got back from watching Downsizing and I immediately felt compelled to post about it. Hands down it’s up there with 2012 and Independence Day as one of the worst films ever made. No spoiler - first 45 mins are fine, focussing on the journey mentally and physically one would take in ‘going small’. Then after doing this the next 1 hour 15 is as if the writers said ‘****, what do we do now?’ It’s completely pointless and actually bears no relevance to the first 45 mins to the extent that you forget they are small. Solid actors even look embarrassed to be there. Some people walked out, if I’d been on my own I would have done.
Watched John Wick 2 the other day, dear oh dear, but I suppose Keanu Reeves and the others have bills to pay, and the way it ended gives me the impression that there could be yet another installmen.
Downsizing looks like **** and based on what I've read it is ****, not gonna bother watching it. John Wick 2 is a decent movie, not as great as the first one, which was very good.
It’s the most misleading trailer I’ve ever seen, everything you’re led to believe what the film is happens in the first 45 mins. It also had that annoying trend of showing clips in the trailer that don’t appear in the final cut. Im still angry.
Yeah, I remember seeing the trailer a couple of weeks ago at the cinema, and based on the synopsis I've read on Wikipedia, the trailer was advertising a different film. I'm fine with trailers hiding a lot of stuff that happens later in a film, but when the film completely changes direction later on, it's false advertising.
Seen a few of the 'Oscar' films the last couple of weeks. Lady Bird - Really enjoyed it, probably top 5 of the year for me. The Post - Another film I really enjoyed, kind of a spiritual sequel/prequel to All the President's Men. I, Tonya - Weird film. The style and editing is a bit off imo. Still good though. Margot Robbie is great in it. Phantom Thread - Typical Paul Thomas Anderson film, but I didn't enjoy it that much. Soundtrack is superb though. Still need to see The Shape of Water though.
I thought The Post was good- both Hanks and Streep wre very good (and almost unrecognisable). I've seen Molly's Game too, and it's good too. Hoping to see Del Toro's work soon.
I watched get out on sky movies , thought it was quite good , first hour hardly anything happened but you are always thinking about what might happen
Had myself a double feature this week. If you like normal people inexplicably going nuts then I can recommend these. Don't expect any Oscar nominations.
Sorry Quill I'm with Fez on this one, Jason Bourne stretched credibility with his exploits, John Wick 2 took it to a whole new level. I accept that he was a fearsome killer but he kept coming up against some lousy shooters. Jason Bourne should just take up stock car racing.
