Filey, really?

I understand that he’s been ill, so he has my sympathy as a human, but if you’re dishing it out a public forum, you have to be prepared for comeback – whatever your situation is.

Last season, his near daily gushing about Leicester and us going up together holding hands was sickly and made me cringe. Not as a Hull City fan and someone who wanted (wants) Pearson to fail, but it simply made me feel embarrassed for him.

I don’t often read the HDM comments for obvious reasons. But, whenever I have read Filey’s comments, I’d say he comes across as fairly belligerent as opposed to his ‘I love everybody’ and ‘everything’s the bestest’ demeanour on here.

 

This is forum for opinions to be challenged on their opinions they express on here. Not for someone with a vendetta and need for attention to go searching other sites to then try and vilify them on here.

This thread is a personal attack, not a discussion, not a sharing or chatting about opinions, its a personal attack. Notice who's joined in? That's why there's no sense reporting it for what it is, which is a huge shame.

There is literally no context around any of those comments, and I think its sad that you of all people are joining in the attack, especially given you knowing Fileys recent history.

 

i think its totally wrong that a thread should be started on the subject - maybe he should have been challenged , harassed pitied and name called on the HDM site .

I think Filey wears his heart on his sleeve.I find his open hearted approach refreshing even when I do not agree with him.
I do not expect he was expecting be showered with rose petals following his article so I would not worry too much about upsetting him.
I have never "met" anyone as well meaning as he seems to be.I think we could all learn something from his approach to life and I doubt anyone who frequented Albermarle youth club and was pally with Ray Harvey and Sinbad is going to be too heart broken by OLM having a go at him.And in defence of OLM he is perfectly entitled to have a go and he should not have his words manipulated(as strangely happened to the word "common" when used by AA)
AS for someone wishing Lester well -brilliant!Some of their fans are good sports and I would say they probably thought he was taking tha p*ss(I certainly was when praising Nige when they were in free fall)

 

What difference does it make where it was first posted? Threads are often started by links to stories from other media, and this person obviously likes his comments to be aired otherwise he wouldn't post his bilge on so many sites. I also don't see why an illness should come into it, if he doesn't want to be challenged he shouldn't post.

 

OLM .to clear up any misunderstanding I think you have every right to challenge Filey-I am sure he will expect you to.

 

Don't know what op the kid had, but maybe what he posts is coloured by the aftermath of it.

Cut him some slack.........

 

I have no idea of his history but if he posts on public forums and message boards then he has to take the consequences , some of the things he's posted need questioning

 

I hope the mods (who are biased to say the least) take this post down .. he is typifying what the CTWD campaign is being seen as ... a witch hunt to those who think different ..

you need to be careful as posts like this are turning more against the CTWD campaign than for .. (point of note 4 people tonight in avenues are disgusted with the attitude on forums of the supporters of CTWD .. so are now happy to let hull tigers be hull tigers) .. these are 50+ year olds looking at the campaign like its done with kids.

the CTWD campaign has made a point of being supportive of the allams ... yet you are not denouncing "supporters" or telling your followers to reign it back when they do ...

look at your group .. is it collective .. is it what you want it to "appear" to be ?

Apologies. I actually had more respect for you than I should have. I see the mentality now of the CTWD campaign with that crass and petty post.

 

Ive done it to the full forum mods . not just these few CTWD members

personally I think this campaign is going to ruin most forums as slowly I see lines being drawn and more and more aggressiveness being used .. its wrong .. this is a forum to talk about football not business (which if you like it or not is what is the point of CTWD whether you like it or not) ... can we just get back to slagging off mclean or mcshane or Gedo .. or someone ? ..

 

So to clarify, you'd like me to remove the posts questioning Fileys support of the Allams and stop the opportunity for Filey to reply?

Isn't that the very manipulation I'm (falsely) accused of?

In my opinion, the thread's a reasonable way of replying to comments posted on a public forum. Fileys registered on here and more than capable of speaking up for himself.

I've not read every post, but if there's specific personal abuse, rather than just questioning the opinions, please let me know, preferably via pm.

Just to clarify, none of the mods on here are anything to do with the campaign.

 

It isn't the campaigns fault that Dr Allam wants to change the name of the club , unless you mean we should just accept it ?

As DMD said, none of the mods are anything to do with the CTWD campaign other than that we all (I think) agree with it and support it. As far as I'm aware the only people on here who are involved are OLM and Obadiah.

However most people on here do support CTWD, if you picked any three people to moderate, the chances are you'd get three CTWD supporters. We can't go closing or deleting threads just because they support CTWD and people don't like it. A lot of this has obviously stopped being about name changes and other club politics, it's just that some posters don't like certain other posters or fan groups and will criticise whatever they do. From what I've seen CTWD have been nothing but professional throughout this farce.

 

Campaigning to save a name is one thing.
Doing it by attempting to take the higher ground intellectually would be an honorable thing.
However now in the face of obvious defeat, the campaign supporters are now just directing bile at anyone who is still thankful for what Allam has done for the club.
