Loitering with in tent
According to Friday's issue of the Isle of Wight's local weekly paper - The County Press - there was a "spot of bother" on the Red Funnel RedJet travelling back to the Island following the Saints v Birmingham game last Sunday.

The article states: An altercation between football fans on the RedJet has sparked a police appeal for witnesses. Officers are investigating reports of threats and verbal abuse between Southampton and Birmingham City supporters on the 6.45 pm Red Funnel sailing from Southampton, on Sunday.
There are reports the dispute continued in the Cowes terminal as the fans left the ferry.

Now, I can vouch that apart from a couple of music festivals over here, nothing particularly exciting ever happens on the I.O.W., so this is quite an occurrence.

Perhaps some Island based Saints fans may have been on the RedJet, and can enlighten us as to what happened. Was it "handbags only", or something more sinister ? Who started the altercation ?

Just curious, that is all <ok>

Do you think the Birmingham fans had got lost?......<laugh>

Maybe they got on the wrong ferry.

I remember reading in the [Plymouth] Evening Herald some years ago about a family from that land-locked part of the world and who'd never been to the coast. They drove onto the Torpoint Ferry at the Devonport side, thinking they were on the Plymouth to Roscoff ferry. When they reached the Cornish side in under 15 minutes and thought they were in France <laugh>

Seeing the second photo, I have almost made that mistake in the past on the East to West Cowes Floating Bridge <laugh>
