That sort of cynicism by England is why I don't watch many World Cup matches. Tedious in the extreme.

Desperately dull, lacking creativity, but England are all but qualified.

I think goal difference is the tie break method, then goals scored, then head-to-head record.

Wales need to beat England by 4 goals to be level on points but ahead by goal difference. I think that's the only scenario in which England don't qualify?

Only saw the second half, thankfully. The amount of times England hit an opposing player with a pass was stupid. At one point I began to wonder if it was being used as a tactic it occurred so often.

I'm trying hard to imagine where England's play might feature in the highlights. ;)

Morocco have a goal disallowed for off side, judged that his shoulder was slightly ahead of play.

Japan had a certain penalty given as outside the box, giving Germany a lifeline. Didn't even go to VAR.

Yes, some decisions have been dreadful.

Looking after the "big" teams imo

"For me Jamal Musiala is one of the most talented young players. With Gavi, with Bellingham, Pedri, he's a massive talent" (Mauricio Pochetino). Two of the four are products of the re-vamped England youth system, the other two from Spain. It's interesting, though, that both Musiala and Bellingham chose to sign for Bundesliga clubs for the next stage in their careers. Something for the EPL to ponder maybe?

So if England top the group it's Senegal in the next round, second place in the group faces the Netherlands.

Now they need to go thru Sargent. I thought against Wales USA went to Pulisic too much while Sarg saw too little of the ball. I don't care if they feed his runs or get the ball to him higher up the pitch so he can feed the wingers. IMO he has to be much more involved than last time (against Wales).

Josh subbed off after twisting an ankle standing on the ball, doesn't sound ideal but hopefully not serious.
