@liamtwomey: A Fifa media release lands in my inbox. Title: 'Four years later, South Africaâs 2010 FIFA World Cup Legacy lives' #misdirection
Blatter will just shout louder. He has a long history of Projection as defined in psychology - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_projection
I just wish every country had the balls to leave fifa and make a new organisation. FIFA will always be corrupt.
The FA have apparently decided not to apply to put on any tournament outside the EUFA zone. Don't blame them...a waste of time and money. I just hope that one day something goes wrong with a tournament venue and we can tell FIFA to do one when they look for someone to step in at short notice.
8 years until the Qatar World Cup. Must be enough time for a "Kerry Packer" style entrepreneur, to put together an alternative competition, for players/nations that don't want to play in Qatar? Just my opinion, but it would just take one senior footballing nation to decline their invitation to participate, in Qatar, to start a domino effect.
Bought some "curry flavour" crisps in Turkey 2 yrs ago. Similar to "curry favour" it was not worth the effort.
What..? Your first instance of the saying..? To curry favour. Look it up. As is usual with these distinct phrases, they sum up in two or three words a whole sentence or two in meaning. In effect, short-cutting the language, just as people do to this day. Curry favour: to try to make someone like you or support you by doing things to please them (usually includes 'with', ie, to curry favour with...)
Suggested on Sky that the best way forward was if a country started an investigation...because unlike FIFA, they could demand information (at least within their jurisdiction).
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/spor...ill-indicts-russia-and-qatar/article21571684/ A very good, and at times amusing, summary. I find the whole thing disgusting. That national FAs kowtow to these criminals is depressing. I would genuinely support a move to withdraw from it - even if we lost our year in the CL.
The problem is that we are intertwined with EUFA and FIFA...I suspect that withdrawing from competitions isn't even an option.
Only for reasons of money. Vast tracts of money. Money is truly at the root of all these evils. FIFA made $4bn out of the last WC and it cost Brazil $11bn!
