I defended Bruce last season when the wheels came off a bit, can't defend him this though and still think as some do he will not take us any further.
We finished 13th last season so a 10th place finish is progress no matter how lucky or how crap the league has been, you can only play what is put in front of you and saying what if we hadn't won at West Ham borders on stupid what if you hadn't won against Birmingham say then you'd be lower as well. What is it with you lot and trying to make up lucky games or saying that if we hadn't won this or that game we'd be further down the league, do you all wear deer stalkers, smoke pipes and have mates called Watson? talk about stating the bleedin obvious.

If we didn't concede that last goal which cost us the game against West Brom, and Sunderland ended up below us and below 10th, then a LOT of people would have been screaming for Bruce to be sacked.

Any mackem who denies it is either delusional or talking utter ****e.

Would it help you at all if we all said you finished higher than us? Will you feel better then?

Hypothetical... Who cares, it's done, you did concede that goal and you did finish below us.

Bruce has us playing a better style of football and I can see he is trying to put together an entertaining side. These things take time. Every manager makes mistakes. However if you look at the football we played under Keane some of it was shocking. In spells this year we have played some fantastic stuff. The problem was it was in spells. Considering Bent abandoned ship and the injuries he deserves to keep building, a new manager and the building and direction changes again. So had we finnished below you I'd have still backed Bruce but looked like I was sucking a lemon all summer. So what about Pardew? Does he stay for you mags and does Ashley get any credit for getting rid of Chris Houghton or however you spell it - would he have taken you down?

    Oh I know. That's done.

I just know for a fact that if it didn't go that way on Sunday, a LOT of mackems would have wanted him to go.

All I'm saying is that in the final day there was a very fine line. Just the slightest change in how the results went would have turned a lot of the current Bruce lovers into Bruce haters.

I'm sorry but that is not the way that Sunderland fans go on: unlike the Mags when they successfully shouted for Bobby Robson's head for only managing 7th place..<doh>

I never shouted for bruce out, nor do i want mon.

Never wavered. Things need sorting with SB re tactics, injuries etc but still the man for at least another season.

Pre january (SB's team) we played the best football for a decade.

Sombrero: I'm well aware of that, and I was just trying to prove a point to that Chappaz character who said that any Sunderland fan who denies that we would have been screaming for Bruce's head is deluding themselves, which is also tosh.

"but i can't help but remember everyone saying "enough is enough", [/B]and "i don't care anymore, Bruce out", Sorry pal but not EVERYONE was saying that, just the moaners who always make the most noise. The people who don't want change are normally silent because they are happy with the status-quo

Everybody on this board who is capable of rational thought knows only an idiot would change his mind after one result. I suspect both the OP and Chapaz know this too.

It is also fair to say that only an idiot would never change his mind. The SB thing has been done to death for weeks.

Piss poor article in my opinion.

Why are all these f*cking CRAAS all over our boards worrrying about Steve Bruce.

FFS they should be looking at their own s*it hole of a club.

Fat Mike, Larry the f*cking Lambias, Alan the Brown Nose Pardew, Sports Direct Stadium, Best players wanting to leave, boycoutt...............

Think they should be concentrating on their own pish - thick unwashed tw*ts.

You're one of (if not the) biggest idiot I've ever seen on the internet, ever.

A few clever mackem's appear every now and again who have an IQ of more than 50 and can string together a couple of sentences properly, and then you come along and just ruin it for the entire club.

Now do everyone a big, BIG favour and stop speaking.

People will be fickle in this situation. We all are at times.

Me. I'm still uncertain about Bruce as I was in the beginning and I definitely don't want O'Niel because I don't believe he would do any better. If he was that good he'd be managing a top club now as there are a number of vacancies around.

Not so clever yourself are you.

If were half as bright as you seem to think you are you would have wrote something like "posting such rubbish" or similar.

Now go away and shoot yourself in the other foot.

    I agree with you.

Leave Bart out of it though, he may be an idiot, but he's our idiot :)
