Have to disagree. I think he is up to the back up job and has done very well since stepping into the breach when he got fit. Yes he got raped on Saturday and is ill equipped to cope with Johnson type pace but that does not mean you write him off. We need a young pacy defender who likes to play out from the back (hence Tomkins) to compliment our squad, that is all. There will be games which suit Mike, and games which won't. its all about balancing your squad for me and Pardew has done this very well. He knows what we need but he wants to get them at the right price and get the right one. I prefer this to our previous policy of PANIC!!!!!
