Confirmed: Thursday 18th June 7.30pm The Sportsman,Nevil Road, Bristol, Bristol, BS7 9EQ Thought it made sense to use a venue who support rovers, are fellow members of The 1883 Club and are next seasons Home Shirt sponsors. I'm away from tomorrow til the 15th, so will be unable to reply in that time........Hope to see a few of you there
Can somebody tell me is parking easy to find on an evening near the pub or do I need to give myself plenty of time
I don't live in the area but it is residential away from the Gloucester Road so after a few minutes you should find somewhere to park. Might see you there!
Looking forward to catching up with some familiar faces and meeting some new ones - I think! please log in to view this image We will also make the draw for the 8 Signed Match Worn Shirts (that'll be promotion season shirts then!) please log in to view this image Be there or be square - oh and unlike the lyrics of a song from 30 years ago it is not hip to be square!
Thanks to all those who attended. We enjoyed an open discussion and listened to everyone's thoughts and opinions. I will summarise the meeting over the next few days. But one important bit of news - Captain Jack Sparrow has won Chris Lines match worn shirt in our annual prize draw! - Congratulations CJS
A good meeting tonight Jon, thanks again for all the work you do. It was good to meet 'old timer'...seems like we stand close to one another on the Dribuild Terrace! CJS....you jammy sod....you won a signed Chris Lines home shirt in the draw tonight. Speaking to another member there and although he doesn't use our site alot he has heard of you and described you as a 'legend'!
A legend? Na, im no legend. I love my club but its people who go the extra mile to help the club are the legends - Like yourself and JTS among many others. I hope you put him right P49. I dont want that status if that makes sense, because who am I at the end of the day?
A Summary of our Informal AGM Thursday 18th June Venue: The Sportsman, Neville Road, BS7. Around a dozen FFS Members were in attendance. If you were not there please feel free to raise questions/conerns/ideas you may have Season 2014/15 saw us Sponsor 9 players, One First Team match and for the first time we became 1883 Club Sponsors, we also launched the successful “GasBill” fundraiser and gave away over 20 prizes to members the value of which exceeded £2000! 1. JTS and Parrot were re-elected as leader and Treasurer respectfully. 2. It was agreed membership fees would remain the same at £10 per person per season. We were reminded every penny raised goes to BRFC. 3. We agreed the name should remain the same and the “FFS” abbreviation is fine as it is. 4. JTS proposed a community ticket fundraiser but it was decided that it may interfere with the Community Departments good work. 5. It was decided we should aim to Sponsor at least 6 players, sponsor two home first team games and enter the 1883 draw again this season (funds allowing) 6. GasBill was unaminously voted to continue and the collection of payments was thought best to remain an “Honesty Box” type system with an occasional push/reminder in forum threads. It was also noted that a “GasBill” operator was required urgently to oversee and log pledges. 7. We decided to continue to Sponsor players that have not received a sponsor by season start with the exception of Tom Lockyer who we will Sponsor for the 4th consecutive season. 8. We have decided not to produce any merchandise at the moment for the FFS. 9. We will need to embrace all 3 forums more and help will be required on each forum to bump threads and help spread the word. JTS will continue to run the Twitter site but more “retweets” are required from members to again spread the word, the @ffsclub Twitter feed has nearly 700 followers at present. It was agreed maybe a presence on the Facebook Rovers Appreciation Page was required and we would need someone with FB savvy to copy/paste info occasionally. 10. To kick off the new FFS Season a Testimonial type thread will be started to encourage new members where existing members explain in their own words why its worth being a part of. 11. Parrot will approach Ian Holtby to ask if a special photo could be taken of a supporter in the Team Photo shoot..we would auction this place to raise more money for the club. 12. We will consider buying an advertising board at The Mem if funds allow to further promote the FFS. 13. The draw was made for the match worn shirts and 10 hospitality places at a future game.

Thanks for the update JTS. Question regarding point 2..... Was a date mentioned when the next membership fee is due? Regarding point 9, as I run the not606 Rovers twitter page, just let me know when you want me to tweet something for you or retweet something. PM me on either here or twitter You have way more followers than our not606 Rovers twitter page. However, we may have some followers on our account that dont follow you.
