Indeed you only need to look at us last year, finished 8th but hit a glass ceiling as ffp wouldn't allow us to take the next step. Que the big clubs coming in and ripping us apart. I mean what hope is there for a Leicester say of coming up and having a go? 'yeaaaahhhh we just got promoted to the least competitive competition in the world, cannon fodder until inevitable relegation at some point down the line' This is why I had a big argument last year with fellow Saints fans about prioritising the Cup over league position, and I still stand by I would rather win the FA Cup n go down (ala Wigan) than finish 8th, I mean what's the point of being in the Prem unless you're one of the top clubs. The sooner there is a European Super League the better for English football as a whole [/QUOTE] Wigan who? To be honest mate, haven't read the whole thread, but the winning the cup and going down line stuck out. This season they'll be visiting (and no disrespect to them), Bournemouth, Rotherham and Brentford, not Chelsea, Man C, etc. Look how many former PL teams are stuck in the Championship. Most of them will never see the PL again. I'm sure most fans would want to see the SOL almost full every week. It won't be in the Championship.
We will just keep going round in circles bonny lad. We will just have to agree to disagree. I would just mention this though, pretty much backs up my thoughts. That the big clubs don't want some rich guy buying a club and piling money in, because you don't want to allow any other clubs into your clique by NEW money, versus your OLD money. Yep disgraceful some rich guy wants to spend his money any way he wants.
I'm sure you'd think differently mate if the tables were turned, but I agree, we aren't going to be able to persuade each other that we are both right! Best part of footy forums for me!
