£40-50 million a season?!? What have you been drinking?? Gazprom is your official energy supplier, they are giving you cheap gas and electricity nothing more.

They're a state owned company, ain't no way they would throw tens of millions of quid at a football club without getting their name on everything! Don't think Abramovich has any pull with Gazprom - they (or more correctly the Russian government) tell him what to do (and how much to sell his company to them for) not the other way round.

only problem with Gazprom deal is Abra is linked to that company as a share holder who sold his shares and UEFA indicated that any sponsor deal should have no links whatsoever to the owner and many financial experts said he is breaching UEFA FFP rules here
beside UEFA said it will scale down clubs deals based on others in same range .. they exactly said "a 1 euro pen which club value as worth 1000 euro will be valued by 1 euro in UEFA"

Could you guys make your minds up.

First we have tourist swarbs saying "They're a state owned company" and then we have the saddest prick on here shwan saying "Abra is linked to that company as a share holder".

And shwan could you kindly give us a list of these "many financial experts said he is breaching UEFA FFP rules here"

PSG had injected 150m with Qatar tourism !! claiming it is a backdated deal which will be paid all at once this season .. yet they announced the deal is just now <laugh>
according to news this deal will certainly be examined by UEFA , more as the deal is related to royal family which own the club
i love how everyone is panicking

yepp this is what i read too , they said it will be tricky for UEFA as Gazprom is a sponsoring UEFA too, many indicated it will be a great test for how serious UEFA are on FFP
remember UEFA will never cancel the deal, they will just make it at same level as others if they find it suspicious or breaching FFP rules, at the end if UEFA said the deal don't worth more than 30m .. i think Gazprom will be more than happy to have this verdict

overall will be a great test for UEFA .. i think they seem started firm on Malaga and other clubs and gone straight to banning them rather than other 7 penalties possibilities.. will that continue ? only time will tell

My point exactly. Gazprom own Zenit and are their main shirt sponsors. So if that's only worth £20 million, why would they pay Chelsea £40 million a year for the privilege of supplying them with electricity? If they had that much money to invest they'd just do what Roman or Mansour did - buy up a club like Newcastle or Everton, plaster it with Gazprom branding and us that £40 million to pump it up into Europe. Much more brand exposure that way.

If anything, Gazprom appears to have the better of the Chelsea deal as reported. They are getting pitchside advertising space in exchange for selling electricity to CFC. I don't remember ever seeing Utd, Arsenal or City advertising who they buy their electricity and gas from!

people are deluded if they think chelsea deal will go without an examination
there is special panel in UEFA which their duty will be to put a fair value for those deals in order to stop owners injecting money artificially.. there is a whole section for that panel called "fair value"
Abra was connected to Gazprom, definitely UEFA will check the deal
what they do is put what other clubs get and scale them down accordingly
