The only young quality player we have produced in recent years is Sterling. However after a few years in our youth teams he jumped ship to Liverpool for 1 million pounds stating he was a life long Liverpool fan and had to join them.

If it is impossible to keep the few talented youngsters you produce, you have to buy players to compete and therefore once again FFP seems to me to penalise the so called smaller clubs.

Sterling has shown it really is all about money, his loyalty to Liverpool seems to have rapidly gone. One good thing is we get a percentage of his sell on fee.

So how can clubs compete with the so called bigger clubs if they have their youngsters nicked and are capped on how much they can spend?

I guess some will give Southampton as an example of a team who have lost many good youngsters but continue to produce, however they have had an academy in place for some years.

Everyone is saying that Sterling is just after money but Liverpool have offered him bucket loads to stay and he wants to go, he seems to want to play for a team that is challenging for silverware which is hardly unreasonable. FFP doesn't work for various reasons including the one you have mentioned which is why it is pretty much being scrapped in it's current form and is why our 'penalty' will be minimal.
