    You are wrong, every professional football player must have insurance and the swans must have employers insurance to cover this

    leeon- dont you think that was a bit of media hype RE what brenden said ?? rodgers is very good at saying the right thing at the right time, dont forget he also said that ferrie had a slight muscle pull when he limped off in pre-season. The club obviously knew it was something else but decided to play it down in the media, same as rodgers was talking up a player that he hasnt seen play a competitive football game for 3 yrs.

    Anyway pintado was a £7m player and rodgers said goodbye to him :)

    I'd agree with the last part of Leeeeon's post, definitely. At this stage, you have to believe that if he's being retained, it's because the pro's think he's good enough when fit. Will we ever see that? Who knows, but I'd much rather be in the camp that's backing him.

    Wigan & Martinez would have never made an offer of 4 million for Bodde , especially after his original injury , if Ferrie wasn't worth it . An offer we turned down before Buck was on the scene I believe . Bodde will be like a new signing before this season is done , fit as a fiddle IMO .

    Jager- thanks for that, i wasnt sure if it was possible to get insurence for an injured player, i know they are bound by the standard FA premier league contract even if they are pay as you play, but i wonder what depth of insurence there is ??

    Some info on the PFA website;

    Accident Insurance Fund
    This fund provides monies to ensure that all Premier League and Football League contracted players are covered under the PFA's Accident and Sickness Insurance Scheme in the event that they suffer a specific injury or illness which results in their permanent total disability to play professional football. This fund also pays a subsidy to both the Premier League and the Football League to ensure that every player has private medical insurance and immediate access to the best possible treatment. This fund also provides financial assistance to former members towards medical expenses and free places at Lilleshall Rehabilitation Centre.

    Just accept that he has finished and has little or no chance of ever playing the standard of football that is required now. i gave up on him 2 years ago and it is looking good that i am right....that's life boys and girls .....its 3 years now and there is no sign of him ever coming back. like Norway says Brendan is just making statements like Martinez £7mill on pintado. I don't care if the club wants to keep paying him...good for him i say. other clubs would have got rid long ago just as soon as his contract run out. lets face it he is no use to us as he is.......No i'm sorry but by the end of the season we should call it a day. He will never be premiership standard as long as his arse points downwards and probably wont play again anyway.......3 years and STILL NOT EVEN CLOSE to making a come back......get real and see the real picture like some of us......gone but not forgotten...<ok>

    It's a good job you are not a doctor otherwise you'd think we'd all be knackered! If you don't mind I will wait until the club and the player call it a day, not some idle speculation not backed up with any credible facts to the bodde case!

    And before you say it again Dai yes I know he hasn't played for basically 3 years, in no small part by the incompetence of Martinez and Sousa and the advice given to them!

    You have consistently been proven wrong over the years, and I happen to think that the club are in a far better position to know what is happening with bodde, rather than us looking from the outside at this!

    you don't have to be a doctor to know if he will be up to the standard we require. going just by brendan's comments he will be into his 4th year without a proper game. He will be 4 years older is legs will have deteriorated. unless of course you think they have frozen him and he will be defrosted and fit and not lost any of his flair..<laugh> that is the only way bodde will be as good as he was.. he will be lucky to play in the bottom leagues if ever at all..

    Dai are you on the medical staff looking after bodde? are you in the know in the club?

    The answer is no to both these questions, the club knows what its doing, and are doing the right thing by giving the guy the opportunity to prove himself! No matter what you say, you are just speculating this, you have no expertise to say what bodde will achieve when he returns. And as I said before, unless you are doc brown with a delorean there is no way you will know that he will be only a league two standard player!

    logic dear boy logic. the player will not have played for 4 years by the last reckoning and somehow he is going to be some sort of fit player that will take the premiership by storm..<laugh> it will be the biggest miracle since Jesus rose from the dead....don't be daft, no way on this earth will he ever come back after 4 years and be as good as before, and who says he would have been a good premiership player anyway. he never played in that standard and unfortunately he never will..<ok>

    Dai who said he will come back as good as before ? going by your logic Hargreaves would have been done for, the boro captain we were in for should have retired and numerous other players with long term injuries should have finished!

    Your logic sucks as it's based on information you think you have but don't ! The fact is you don't know how things are going to pan out, and neither do I , but the club who have medical experts at hand are sure to know if the game is up!

    Your problem dai is that you try and pass off your limited knowledge as fact, it's not it's that simple ! Most swans fans are pragmatic on this and are hoping things will resolve into him making a return.
