I'll echo the other guys, welcome Happyal. I think Webber performing comparatively poorly has meant that the WDC looks fairly settled if Vettel can keep up anything near this run of form, because Webber hasn't been taking points off of him. But as said, the WCC is more open as a result of this. I think its all going to come down to the development race. Mclaren look best placed at the moment, and with a significant upgrade more than Red Bull could really push Red Bull. We'll see though. If Mclaren were clearly the second best team, and consistently getting around 3rd-4th place finishes, which they aren't far off now, it'd be closer than it is. If Webber picks his form up though, I don't think the WCC will be going to anyone but Red Bull!
Hello, happyal. Good to see a new face. Maybe you can help us out - tell us a bit about yourself, that kind of thing. That's my feeling and it applies to McLaren, too. Red Bull won't need a big haul of points from Webber to win the WCC. Just enough will be just enough if Vettel continues the way he is.
Welcome to the forum. Whilst I feel McLaren are the only ones who can stop Red Bull at the moment we all saw what happened last year. The Ferrari in Alonso's hands is a force to be reckoned with, hopefully by mid season people will have caught Vettel up a bit.
I've said a little about myself in the starting watching F1 thread. I think at the next few races we'll see if anyone can catch up to Vettal. These are the tracks that don't suit the Red Bull, and in Canada at least, it's going to be fairly easy to overtake. I certainly hope that we'll see a different winner and most of all we get a good show again.
wow 6 races in and everyone has already thrown the towel in. Personally I can't see RBR improving that much, Ferrari have made a massive leap, as have McLaren. if Both these teams develop a flexiwing will Vettel become like Button in 09, gradually falling further and further back? Canada is going to be a hard one to call, I think Vettel will have to drive ne of his best races to even get on the podium, the power of the Ferrari and Mclaren engines will be too much for them, the question is, will Ferrari and Mclaren take the points of each other rather than Vettel?
Maybe I've been looking at this the wrong way... There's no point making the car "faster" since the biggest task are the tyres. There is only so much you can advance over the whole body until the upgrades start becoming a burden. Red Bull might be slowing down in the sense of increasing the gap of their rivals, but I think they are more interested in getting extra life out of the tyres at every race. Vettel looks to be the only driver who is willing to go twice as long on certain compounds than the other front runners so it looks to be their extra hand in the race.
