Mereiles, needs to work on his short game a bit, link up play attacking, it lets him down a bit at times
Dirk seems ot be getting back to his best. I am so loking forward to Carroll shoving around CBs, we haven't had a physical presence in the box since?
 
Looking at how he's playing for Chelsea has made me wonder if his problem is not so much that he isn't trying, but that's he's just incredibly mentally weak and when his confidence is low he can't handle it.

He must be trying, it's a new club and he's out to impress, but he's ****ing **** and isn't working hard either. It's baffling. He's like the anti-Dirk. Doesn't matter how **** he's playing, he'll always work hard and if he gets a chance he'll bury it nine times out of ten regardless of how poor he's played. Torres is the opposite.

He's also pulling the same **** with them as he was with us, such as being first off the pitch and not clapping the fans at the end of games.
 
I'll try my best to put into another context.Its like a school situation.Torres seems like the bright spark that doesn't put his hand up to answer a question even though he knows the answer,whereas Dirk Kuyt is the one that always puts his hand up even though 9/10 times he has the wrong answer.What I'm refering to is enthusiasm.
Maybe just maybe,Luis Suarez is the better strike partner.It seems he and Kuyt have hit it off almost immediately.Because even though Suarez is blessed with unbelievable skill....he's also a bundle of energy.Its the enthusiasm that does it for me.When Torres spoke about Dirk Kuyt,it was always about the work he did for HIM,not the team,is this not a little bit selfish on Torres part.?
Suarez and Kuyt seem to sing from the same song sheet,no selfishness on either part.Even though Suarez was almost going to throttle Dirk for finishing off what he created against United,but that was pretty harmless,Suarez was just delighted to see it go in.And Dirk Kuyt came out and praised Suarez for his contribution.Even though he scored 3 goals,He was selfless enough to thank his mate for helping him.Thats what I like to see.
 
Honestly, I cannot believe the bitterness about this move.

Robben was as dynamic for us, albeit not the sacred number 9, and we look back at his time with us as pretty special, and wish him the best.

The difference here is that we are top four, and at this moment you are not.

He wants to play at the highest level, and regardless of history or your assertions of us having none, we are able to offer that.

Mashcerano saw the signs and did one, you sold Alonso for god knows what reason, and did **** all to replace them...do you honestly think that selling players of that calibre, and playing in the Europa League, is going to enthuse a player who is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world, and that has also won the World Cup and European championship?

He will be judged at Chelsea on next seasons performance, I also agree about the comment made about formation but to be honest after Drogba's overtures at Marseille this season and his mutterings over the last six i wouldn't be surprised in Torres is our lone striker next year.

It is worth noting he looks sharper every game he plays...Carroll is the real question here, not exactly prolific, bags of potential but yet to be proven...8th most expensive player in football history...it begs the question...

Suarez is top class btw, and as someone said before, he signed for the club not the champions league...

You obviously don't understand the mentality of many Liverpool fans then. They don't mind players leaving, but can't stand it when a player (or anyone else) points out their club's shortcomings. Torres saying he wanted to move to a bigger club in order to actually win some trophies, and then claiming that he has "finally arrived at a big English club" is like a red rag to a bull for Liverpool fans. Even if the current situation is proving him right - Chelsea still in with a shout in the PL and CL whilst Liverpool are relying on Utd or City winning the FA Cup to even qualify for Europe next season...

Either way, like you say, Carroll and Torres can only really be judged next season - it's hard to think of any January signings that have made a significant impact for their new club in the same season. Will be interesting to see what the two managers try to do with those two in pre season.

Gee, is that likely to upset you? Of course not. Only Liverpool fans get upset. Because you say so. It sure seemed to upset a lot of Utd fans, though, when Rooney pointed out Utd's shortcomings. I mean, all those internet threats to kill him. Gerrard had one bloke; Rooney had an entire stadium of Glazer-hating zealots.

Maybe you could go to a board where fans love hearing about how bad their club is from a dozy wum. Good luck finding one.

In the meantime, go back to your own board and discuss who'll replace Rooney this summer. Or bang on about something which upsets you here. Either/or. Blah blah, now serving wum 69.

I notice there matey, you often speak in absolutes when reading the minds of folks. You know a refs mind when he gives a goal, not your opinion but state as a certainty, you know for a certainty what fans, all millions of them different people, have in their minds, and it appears to all be the same thoughts as you pretty much make specific statements wrapped in generalisations. This is the result of not socialising with real flesh and blood human beings and leads to a kind of psychosis, a symptom is Having an opinion and being 100% in the belief you are right and that that is the way it is without ever considering other possibilities

You my friend need help you can't possibly afford.

Us fans have varied opinions and they can change at a moments notice depending..
Carroll has been judged to be England worthy and plays in the top flight and has been rated by scouts and coaches not just at liverpool but within the game, 35m was because Newcastle didnt want to sell, so it was dearer to buy him especially in th January transfer window, 35m is a fee for Andy and compensation for losing him like they did. Isn't that why it costs more to buy a player out early on in his contract.

Focus on Rooney being terrible since getting that new contract and obscene wages instead and tell us the worth of Barba, 15m maybe, not nowhere near the panic stricken 31m spent on him

Like his scouse friend wayne, funny mancs forget Rooney is a scouse through and through, Both of them wanted assurances of their own importance, the managers pandered to them with promises of team building and offerings of better contracts, so Jip On Your Ham my good man, it was hardly a fan that made him change his mind, if he ever actually intended on leaving at all in the first place as with Rooney

Have a look at the scouse you worship instead anyways there mancy manc, the very dipper you'd offer your missus to for the night if he asked, the Mr Rooney, "I am not happy you are not building an expensive team around me as I am so fking brilliant I cant get a goal for 200k a week"
