Garry Monk was talking about Fernandez last night like it was all done and dusted. He didn't use that sentence, but he was talking about him as if he was truly factored into our plans.
Got to be honest I thought all that was already in place! What of the other two we'd been linked with?
The deal is done, and another great transfer from our Rookie Monk, if our games go the way of our transfer dealings then we are in for a great season, Monk has eclipsed Laudrop in the transfer market without doubt, and I'm sure he'll do the same on the pitch, though that will not be too difficult after such a crap season!.................
Sorry but they were nightmares, and thank goodness they are over! 'Garry Monks Barmy Army'..........................
Swans' were a damn sight luckier to have had Laudrup, who secured a top ten finish, won a major cup,and took the team into Europe. Remind us all again, what the f**k has Monk done, apart from dismantle the team?
How about this: - Led the team as captain from League 2 to the Premier League. - Looked interested for 10 years (not 10 months).
Add...not a good enough player at this level but still got paid a huge wedge and you'd be right. Didn't see anyone clamouring to sign him either. Can't see how Monk as eclipsed Laudrup at all in the transfer market. At least not yet. Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't Bony and Michu brought in under Laudrup? You know, those guys that scored all those goals. OK Bony may have ben less to do with Laudrup than Michu but didn't we pay £2M odd quid for a goal machine? Wasn't this widely touted as the best ever Prem signing? Add to that Chico Flores, Pablo Hernandez etc. and I fail to see how anyone other than the deluded can come out wth that statement. Monk may indeed eclipse Laudrup in more ways than one. But not yet - not by a long chalk.
Why do think you that? I was talking about managerial achievements, not playing. Go back and read my post again. I wouldn't waste my time comparing their playing careers. Chalk and cheese comes to mind.
Now you are dreaming..you did see where we were when we sacked the useless piece of **** did you and the fact we were heading for certain relegation.....get real ffs...
Monk may indeed eclipse Laudrup in more ways than one. But not yet - not by a long chalk. Already done it, monk saved our season....
C'mon guys - this Laudrup versus Monk rubbish is getting old! I will always be grateful that someone of Laudrup's stature was manager of Swansea - when he was announced as our manager I had to pinch myself; probably the greatest footballer of his generation managing our little old Swansea - and he did us proud; I never thought that I would ever see us winning a major trophy, but he achieved that for us! I will always fondly remember the fantastic time we had with ML in charge and whatever anyone thinks it cannot be denied that he was an important cog in our development. But he has gone and we should now all get behind Garry Monk; he did well enough with Laudrup's side last season and should be given credit for keeping us up (TBH I think we would have stayed up anyway but that is purely conjecture and will never be proved conclusively one way or the other!) Now we should get behind the side he is building and give the him our full support (and before I get pulled up on this, I know that the Laudrup camp also want the best for Monk and Swansea!) So let's not let thread after thread descend into petty Laudrup v Monk squabbling! We are where we are and our job as fans is to get behind the manager and the team! I am quite excited by the players we have brought in (all be it tinged with a little sadness at those who have left) and looking forward to another season in the most exciting (if not the best - that would be Spain ) league in football! So let's put the point scoring to one side and enjoy another season - whatever the eventual outcome!
It's that bloody Vetch! Come on valley do your job and ban the bugger, 3 days for continuously slagging of Monk, and another 3 days for turning every thread into a Laudrop v Monk bitch feast, that's 6 day ban, so lets round it up to a whole week and give the bugger a 7 day BAN!.................. Actually I forgot his garbage aimed at Huw too, so add another 3 days makes it a round figure of 10 day ban Get some balls will you Valley and do your job, bloody wimp.................... please log in to view this image
