Agree, there has rarely been a better time to be a QPR supporter. It's the justified hope that's intoxicating. 1975/6 was the closest to it in my time, runners up in the First Division. What a team then. Quite hard to compare the two, because the Prem has a worldwide reputation that the First Division didn't have.

This was the same First Division whose champions had a 10 year near monopoly on the European Cup? I think it had a pretty strong reputation.

Is this backed up with any evidence?

But the football world was smaller. The Prem has a worldwide audience. That's what's attracted owners like our own. The First Division didn't have that. I'd say the First Division clubs were big fishes in a smaller pool.

Whatever Fernandes does he will be criticised by those of other clubs, especially narrwich and wet spam.... for obvious reasons.

I'm quite surprised that none of them are hijacking this thread with more comments about us buying this, aged old squad, worst fans, tin pot stadium........

I'm still trying to come to terms with certain clubs criticising us for signing players who are reaching the twilight of their career, I see this as working towards establishing us as a premier club whilst adding a few youngsters who will learn from old pro's.

I think we are all going to enjoy this season much more, especially turning over a certain few clubs ;)

what a turn around from pre-season last year & i salute you tony & the board & thanks, one of the biggest signings is beard he's changed things alot & comes across vey pleasant but he's got his hat screwed on ok, reading what tony put is just fantastic news & also about signings & agree & can't be messed about, they don't want to come then we move on, so encouraging & can't wait for season to start & at the moment we are little qpr but big times are round the corner!

No, I don't think there is either. All the signs are that Mittal not easily enthused. Was a bit when the Goons brought him in - and again when we won the Championship. All that cooled pretty quickly when the Goons blanked the buy out offer. It's only Amit's fondness for the Rs that's kept Lakshmi in.

Got a feeling that Tony's development plans will really awaken the desire in Mittal - especially the Asian marketing opportunities! All good imo.

Mittal did put an offer in to buy the club but T@C wanted too much, thats a fact and I think it may have been said by Amit in T4YP.

The rest is just a feeling with the money being splashed about.
