Another different report, how many more? I get the uneasy feeling that this could be a set-up to keep Flav at the club with Fernandez as a puppet. Bernie has all Flav's shares in the club with Flav having first option on them, that option may be to bring in a mate (through F1 links) to maintain his interest. It's a bit like Putin in Russia who chooses who will be President while he pulls all the strings and retains power. I hope I'm wrong. I would be lot happier if Bhatia was buying the majority as he'd have the backing of the Mittal family and would certainly have wealthy connections who could back his judgement. I really don't see how Bhatia would fit in with a minority stake unless he expects Fernandes to be a temporary majority shareholder.
Sounds as if there are still some sticking points in the purchase by Fernandes - he emphasised IF he buys several times. If he was to drop out, I think a Mittal bid for all the Goons shares could be on the cards, given reports that they are increasing their shareholding under the Fernandes deal. Ecclestone seems to be keen to sell now, and if reports are right, accepts that his £100m valuation of the club was just so much bull...
From the way that Fernandez was talking it all sounds like being far from a done deal to me. Just a thought - Perhaps what's holding this all up is the legal threat from Dunga? I can't see any potential new owner (Fernandez or anyone else) wanting to fork out three quarters of a million pounds as soon as they get their hands on the club...
I vaguely remember all that talk about Dunga a few years ago - wasn't actually aware that he'd personally loaned the club money though. Clearly he did, just seems a little strange to me. Why did he do it? Out of the goodness of his heart or because we were so desperate that he could slap on a hefty rate of interest?
For what it's worth ================ @MorningRichie Good morning Richie QPR Deal to be announced tomorrow. Ownership to be: 55% Fernandes / 45% Mittals. Ecclestone and Briatore out for good. #QPR #atbloodylast 46 minutes ago via Twitter for iPad
Fer/nandes/Bhatia Good name for a chicken restaurant with indian fusion, maybe Bernie will buy into it thinking it's football club.
Sounds good to me, after all the talk of the Mittals/Bhatia not being interested, this could be fantastic news.
If it's true, I could see the Mittals eventually buying Fernandes out (may be once the latter is declared bankrupt after NW goes shopping!)
This guy has contacts. ================== @paulfinney1969 paul finney Hearing rumours that Flavio has resigned anyone heard this I hope its true trying to find out more
How much more bollocks ia gonna be written on this subject.Iam sick to the back teeth about all this takeover ****.Lets just see who it is and whenever it happens, all this guff on twitter and by people in the know, are u listening Cerny is doing my swede in. Anyone else going to Goodison on Saturday? Seven of us going and we intend to show our disgust at the board in a major way,so it will be interesting if anything is sorted out by then.
The only thing I don't understand is why Mittal would want to continue to be involved without the controlling share. Surely he has had his fingers burnt already with Flav and Bernie?
The Mittals are not rushing - or paying a premium for shares - If I recall correctly, they've gone from 20% to 33%, and now, apparently, to 45%. They may just wait for their opportunity to buy the extra 6%. [Edit - Agree rrrrrs!]
Lets just all hope it's all sorted rapid, so NW can go shopping - sure we'd all be happy with Mittal/Bhattia having a majority share, but time will only tell if they want to get serious and launch a full takeover once the Goons are out of the picture. Reckon the result at the weekend knocked a few mill of the asking price?
