    Well isn't this fun!

I mean all teams tap up players and a few have whined about others doing it.

You have to admit though NOF; you're all secretly worried at the escalation & frequency of the old mans rants.

You're all wincing and waiting for the day he staggers out the tunnel on match day with no trousers on, calling for his first horse that died 20 years ago.....

Well, it's a football issue concerning one of the biggest characters in football so it's understandable that we should enjoy having a pop at yet another example the old duffer's hypocrisy.
What is remarkable was that one of yours somehow manages to drag us into it, on your board, on a subject to which we are, at most, merely tangentially related.
Utd are the biggest club of the last twenty years so it's understandable that people notice everything they do. Utd supporters' continued obsession with our irrelevant, mid-table, has-been club is a little more difficult to explain.

Surely a younger manager as opposed to an old drunk would be a good thing for United? We can have reverse wingers, false strikers and invisible defenders!

Lol that's just BR's way of hurrying the decline: he knows Fergie is the person that is case Zero of the Liverpoolitus you lot suffer from; its obviously a form of dementia.

You watch closely next week when BR shakes Fergie's hand. He'll be saying "hello Jim; lovely January morning in 1986 isn't it? Perfect for a game of ball of the foot. I see you've set your team up in a false football with inside refs today; magic. And don't worry Jim, its a mild January, nobody needs their trousers, you're a trend setter! Whiskey after the game?"

A delight in the misfortunes of others?
    What a perfectly admirable trait.

    Who is Fryers?

Spuds are going on like they've stolen Messi <laugh> HIAG is already a content expert on this player and has given him the usual HIAG overrated review of 25 stars cos Spuds are buying\have bought him.

What I don't get in this is the guy left United to Standard... did United not get the £6mil compensation that they were trying to get from Spurs? If so, what's the problem? Unless Fergie was just trying to get £6mil from Spurs and instead only wanted a very small amount from Standard? In which case that's his own fault surely? If he really thought the guy was worth £6mil compensation then no matter what team he went to that should have been the amount they asked for.

He needs the cash to give to that South African girl he indecently assaulted whilst getting a lift back to his hotel.

That story lasted about 1000000th of the time in the tabloids than the Suarez story did. Imagine if Kenny was accused of that, it would be in the media for years with a new thread every day on the manc board about it.

Agree with this - the big issue in this story is not Utd, or SAF going off on another rant, but how unbalanced the compensation rules are across countries. It's only a matter of time before agents start making millions simply by shifting out of contract players across borders for a year (or even six months) just to help clubs avoid paying fair compensation.

All clubs have broken the letter of the transfer rules when they want a player - it's been standard practice for years now. Just find it funny Liverpool were the only ones dumb enough to be caught doing it twice! Don't tell me you wouldn't find it just as amusing if we got slapped with a fine or had to apologise to someone. All just banter, I'm sure you gents will take it in the spirit it was intended (well, some of you will anyway...)

We got next to nothing from Standard, as the FIFA compensation rules are piss poor compared to the FA ones. But then we and other clubs benefit from it too - we got Pogba for peanuts from Le Havre compared to what we'd have had to pay had he been at an English club. Ditto Arsenal with Fabregas, probably you guys with Suso etc. It's a big problem imo - English clubs can get young players cheaper from abroad than they can from other English clubs, so everyone fills their academies with talented foreigners.
