Huge kudos for that. No one has said any different. Well done. Did you stay up all night thinking that one up?
I've got to say, why the **** does a man in his 70's who's a multi millionaire & has a nice cushy non exec Directors role at the club he served for over a quarter of a century, feel the need to have to write a sensationalist autobiography to further line his pockets? Knowing fine well that in the process he'll piss off a whole host of his former players / staff & maybe cause an issue for your club with the likes of current players such as Rooney? It's nothing more than greed & in the process, it's besmirching his own reputation, not enhancing it.
Will definitely have to read it. And that's the answer, people are interested. Simple as that. His last one was a good fifteen years ago and a good deal has happened since. United are pretty well supported so he has a market and we want to know, I just don't get the outrage from the media which opposition fans are feeding off and being outraged because they feel they should. From the quotes released by the likes of talk sport, and they have not even attempted to balance it out by quoting sections where he isn't talking about one or two ex players, there really is no big deal. None at all. Not sure he should bother commenting on Liverpool players but beyond that Keane fully deserves what has been said about him, there's nothing new on Beckham and nothing of note on Rooney. Massive deal being made about a few quotes, personally I'll read it before deciding either way.
Alright lads, was looking forward to his book until I read some of the quotes regarding Sunderland, Not going to argue about him playing us like a fiddle. Most of us could see what was happening. What's annoyed me was the Bit about Scholesy. He claims we made offers in multiple windows for the lad. I was pleasantly surprised as It show we did have some ambition. But He's called us Greedy for wanting 'more from our relationship' (last I looked any club can bid for any player plus it's very hypocritical considering that he'd just confessed he was using us and ripping us off) But it was the complete bullshite regarding claims that the Scholes bids were off the back of fan pressure to sign him over multiple windows. Let me lay this down as fact us fans never ever did this, in fact most of us know that he was out of our league even when he retired! Sunderland AFC have never ever liaised with fans regarding player purchase ever. Book is null and void for me. The second a lie is exposed in an autobiography the publication becomes fictitious joke. Just another liar printing bullshit. What a ****er too. Doubt we'll be developing too many of your players from now. Your loss thanks to Fergie. Good luck with the season everyone, hope you start picking up more points and fast. Still got a soft spot for United as family support them.
Couldn't understand what you were saying so had a quick look at your board. Is the bit that teessidemackem quotes an actual quote from the book? If so, it does seem unneccessarilly sneery for no real reason. Also it does insult Brown and O'Shea, which again doesn't seem to be fair. Got to be read though.
You make it sound like it's an altruistic act - fulfilling a need for the population, lol. When the reality is, that he's done it for the cash & that's the be all & end all. As for the media, of course they're going to highlight the sensational pieces & ignore the rest, that's how it works ffs. Particularly when you've deliberately chosen to not serialise the book in the media prior to the much hyped launch, which gives the chance to apply some deliberate balance. But again, they chose to try & boost sales by not doing so, for what reason? Cash....... It cheapens the man imo, which is a shame.
No I don't, I make it sound like he wrote a book because there was an audience for it. Nothing more, there's a market. No doubt he'll make cash but it can't be denied there are people who want to read his story. **** all to do with helping us out. Lol . Whatever the **** that means.
I can find the extract in multiple sources now but it all leads back to a Mag article from a Mag website so not been confirmed. If it's true you're right, it is unfair on those lads. There's an element of truth but it doesn't need to be said. It would be very very disrespectful if true.
Not sure why hes supposed to kiss ass. " Oh everyone in footballs great, what a swell bunch. We often shared cake. " Yeh.... ok. As stated, he wasnt afraid to say how it is while a manager so its obvious he would have a few things to say.
"Unfortunately they got greedy in asking for Scholesy when he still had a couple of years left in him. I was never going to agree to that, but they didn’t take the hint and came back in every transfer window, mainly because their fans “wanted” him." That's bollocks mate. He's talking out of his arse. Fact It's the first we've heard it(see post #124). Our club has never ever liaised with fans over transfers ever. Don't be so naive. I know precious Sir Alex isn't capable of telling lies in your world. But he's exposed himself as an arsehole left right and center in this book, that combined with the quote I know for a fact is bollocks tells me, a logical man, that there'll be consistent lies throughout the book. Should be an amusing read though if taken with a pinch of salt. I'm back and forth weather to read it or not. I'll not be buying it though.
