We all knew already that he lost the battle of control of beckham to Posh, so David had to go. it makes me laugh, Posh had more to do with beckham going to madrid than Fergie had FFS beckham is still confused, wondering why he's not playing for man u any more
Serious question, are any of you disappointed with what seems to be a book about Fergie having snide digs at pretty much everyone? I would never have read this for obvious reasons but I was expecting something a little different and something more interesting. There's no doubting that Fergie is one of the greatest managers ever but his book seems littered with throw away comments about players, teams, managers and just about anyone that he's ever encountered. The Beckham part is a good example, it's been well documented what happened and Fergie has been quite clear on his thoughts, but surely this was the time to show a little class and have that section worded a little better and show some respect to a player that was a great servant to the club. It seems to go on ond on though with dig after dig at a everyone in the game. Is this what you expected (just another football book settling old scores) or did you expect more?
Fergie on himself: "I'm a complete ****. Anyone who doesn't think I'm a ****ing **** is a stupid ****. Anyone that thinks I'm a **** is a ****ing **** for thinking I'm a ****. Anyone who doesn't know me is a **** for not knowing me. Basically, the whole world is one massive ****".
This is what everyone expected, otherwise it would be a pointless book. On page 678 he says nasty things about you
Yeah but I deserved it so fair enough. I'm really shocked though stack this up with every footy book out there, nothing different and it should have been something special for fans to own and look back on.
Footballers and managers spend their lives hiding what they really think. Should be a good read, Fergies been around longer than most, knows almost everyone and will no doubt reveal stuff we would never imagine.
it basically sounds like the book was written by Matth, and proves that Fergie is a ****er just as we all (bar United fans) knew.
Whats he bitter about? Seems like hes just stating the obvious in the few quotes posted. rafa was a **** who nobody liked. he took Liverpool backwards. Keane is a prick Gerrard isnt and never has been world class The FA dont know what they are doing or who is doing it. Hargreaves was a waste of money Beckham needed bringing back down to earth. Beckham missed United more than United missed him. Jose v Rafa was always a Jose win. Even when he lost. He also said most of this while still manager.
CL, another final, highest PL finish, top coefficient in Europe, till G&H went and screwed it all up. Yeaaaaaah.... backwards.
Hmmmm... from CL winners to what? 7th. I suppose you are Irish so backwards is forwards is backwards. Something like that. Blaming the yanks yet I havent seen much change since they left. Suggests someone else was at fault....
The shower of quotes tells me all I need to know, plenty of needless jibes at players and managers. Seriously, why the **** does he feel the need to comment on Stewart Downing for?
