We've been linked with Sneijder for 2 or 3 years, it will probally continue to happen until either he signs or he retires.

But I agree with the part about Ando.

" but the proposal of the leaders of the Red Devils is really interesting from an economic standpoint."
"Words that freeze the back of the president Moratti that despite the bridges of gold promised by Ferguson has no intention to deprive himself of his ace."

It might be a rough translation, but does that read 'he might come to United for the money'
Sneijder has said a few times that he loves it in Milan, as does his wife. But Milan has got nothing on Moston. :p

The economic standpoint thing could mean that Utd are willing to help his wife launch her TV career in the UK and hence the English speaking world. Dunno how reliable this story is, but it implies that Sneijder is 50/50 and his wife could be the make or break in the deal.

I'm in agreement that replacing Scholes is just not looking possible. He was that good that the only players who could be on that level are teh Barca guys so it's not going to happen. But our central midfield is far from being beyond improvement and there are midfielders out there who could and would improve us imo.

I would like to see Anderson get a run of games too but he needs to show that he has the determination to earn that place. Even if he does, I still think that leaves us with another central midfield spot needing filled. As it stands, we are looking like starting next season with Ando, Carrick, Cleverly and Giggs as our only fit CMs. Giggs won't be able to play every game, the jury's still out on Cleverly and Carrick and Ando still have question marks over their ability to produce consistently at a high level. So there is definitely a gap there to be filled, particularly with Fletcher's mystery illness.

to truly strengthen, that is with established stars, you're looking at 2 players maybe and would ultimately be £80-90m, could we actually recruit that standard, let alone afford, and would we be buying commmitted players or just mercenaries.

I feel the answer long term will be to go with what we've got, and be patient in our approach in the transfer market, and forget about Barca

True.We will have to trundle along winning the PL untill Morrisson, Pogba and Co are ready.

While I feel we need reinforcements in there, possibly 2, I also want Anderson to get a fair crack.I think he is good enough if he can stay fit.
Fletcher is a worry for me but Jones can play in there so hopefully we wont need to replace him.

<ok> It will keep going until the window closes and will pick up again when it opens in January just like the Fabregas saga every year. Personally, I am happy enough for Anderson to get a chance because he is a good player but he should just express his own personality on the role because if he tries to be the new Scholes he will flop like KPR's willy during coitus.

I simply cannot understand why people are so against giving Pogba and Morrison a chance in the Man Utd first team this season, or Cleverley!

All three players have bright futures ahead of them and I bet that, if given a chance, all three of them could alternate throughout the season and put in some great performances.

Cleverley will get his chance in the Carling and Budweiser cups as he should but I don't Pogba or Morrison (especially Morrison) are ready for that. It would be a huge mistake to rush them into first team football as it would damage their development.

I really don't see why that should be the case.

If my memory serves me correctly Scholes hit the first team when he was around 19. Pogba is 17 (I think), Morrison is 18, Cleverley is 21. As all three of them have shown talent I think it would make sense to at least give Pogba and Morrison a chance in the cups and to put Cleverley in the first-team squad as he is definitely ready. I'd definitely give Morrison and Pogba a run out against teams like Wolves and QPR in the league though.

Given that Morrison has the reputation of being a bit of a tit it'd be good to send him out on loan, either in the Championship or somewhere in Europe. However, after seeing Pogba and Morrison in action for the youth team I think they're definitely ready for a crack at first-team action.

as much as i'd like to be proved wrong, i cant see cleverly making it. he did score some goals at wigan, but his midfield play wasn't particularly great. he'll be 22 this year. just a year younger than anderson. and when you factor in the experience ando already has, on the biggest stage, it'll take an almighty effort by cleverly to get ahead of him in the queue.

Morrison made his debut against Wolves in the CC last season aged 17, so that was two years earlier than Scholes who was almost 20 on his debut. The big thing for him is can he keep his nose clean - the details of his court case came out shortly after his debut so SAF obviously decided to keep him out of the spotlight whilst that was ongoing. If he can stay out of trouble he'll get a run in the team in the CC, and if he impresses then maybe he'll step up.

Pogba hasn't made his debut yet, but could well do so in the CC this coming season. Same as Morrison, he needs to impress and then he'll get his shot.

No way SAF should let him off the leash whilst he's still acting up. Don't you remember Wallwork and Higginbotham getting bans for attacking refs whilst on loan in Belgium, effectively ending their Utd careers? I doubt Morrison will be allowed out on loan until he can show greater maturity.

Fair point. I do agree that his wife might be the deal maker/breaker

Given that Morrison is a bit of a tit I wouldn't send him away from Fergie. If Morrison ends up anywhere else it'll be beacuse Fergie has given up on him, I doubt it'll be a loan deal.

United were never really in the market for Wesley Sneijder, United just couldn't afford the wages. Besides you would have Rio & Shrek knocking on Fergies door wanting parity, what are you trying to do? give the Glazers a heart attack <laugh>
