Is this the same Jose Mourhino who's Real Madrid side is the most expensive in world football by quite some way, yet there 16 points behind league leaders Barca at the half way stage. Not to mention his fellow countryman and talisman Ronaldo wanting to leave to go back to Man Utd to work under SAF again

The Champions league is a knockout tournament, so from time to time you will get a lesser fancied side win it. Jose done well with Porto, but then again Benitez won it with Liverpool on a similar budget, and you guys have been saying how poor a manager he is for weeks. What I'm saying is the best team doesn't always win the CL, sometimes abit of luck decides it.

You Chelsea fans should know this more than any, you have been unlucky yourselves on occasions to be eliminated, yet rode your luck last season to win it.

The best team in England wins the league, you can't get lucky over 38 games. We're as the best team in Europe doesn't always win the CL.

Mourhino is a great coach, but he'll never be able to build a dynasty at a club like SAF has, because his mega ego eventually starts to upset people. It happened at Chelsea and now it's happening at Madrid.

SAF doesn't need to go abroad to prove anything, pretty much every top European club would have been interested in SAF had he wanted to leave Man Utd, but he's quite happy managing the biggest club in the most watched league in the world.

By the same token is Lampard not a great player, because he hasn't proved himself abroad?

 

Guardiola has won 2 European cups in 4 years of management. Ancelotti won 2 in the space of 4 years with Milan.

Its taken Ferguson 26 years to win 2.

Obviously you need a bit of luck to win an European cup, but the amount of times Ferguson has seen his teams eliminated because the elite teams in the CL have exposed the weaknesses of his team is unreal.

AC Milan exposed their weakness in central midfield in 2007, Barcelona did the same in 2009 (but to be fair they'd do that to most sides), Bayern targeted the inexperienced Rafael at right back and got him sent off in 2010, Barcelona pulled their pants down again at Wembley but you'd have thought Man Utd would've learnt their lesson from last time? Nope, the game played out almost exactly the same as it did in 2009. In 2011 their effort at getting out one of the weakest ever CL groups (probably second to the one they had this year) was laughable.

He will go down as one of the great managers of all time but its rather obvious he builds his teams to win the league and anything he gets in Europe is a bonus, as he seemingly doesn't have faith in his ability to outwit any of the great European managers tactically.
