Ferdinand to leave Man Utd in summer.

Rio Ferdinand is to leave Manchester United in the summer after the defender is not offered a new contract.

    Ferdinand anybody?

As a squad body yes. But he is injury prone and will be looking for at least £75k per week so we wouldn't get much value for money I feel.
If he worked on a pay as you play basis then that could work...

Somebody will be happy to take him aboard, don't think the fat man will pay what he'd want to come here though.

Wouldn't be a bad investment though as some of his experience might rub off onto the youngsters.

Wouldn't touch him, a shadow of his former self and would be here only for the pay day.

Whilst I advocate experience in defensive areas, Ferdinand's best days are behind him and it is a Campbell scenario where its one last pay day. he might be reinvigorated by a change of scenery but it won't be here. West Ham is most likely or the US.

We could offer him a post as player/coach, with a view to a bigger role at the club in the future if things work out.
Somewhere along the line, we need someone to sort out the defence.

Maybe not as daft an idea as you would think, but, very unlikely to happen.

I'm sure under AP's tutorship, Ferdinand would blossom.

    Have decided not to go.
After long absence on sick leave, I go back to work on Monday next week, so I need my wits about me.
    That and wedding anniversary.
Shame, but that's way it has to be.

    How about you?

According to the Heed Army forum, about 7,500 tickets have been sold.
They had 1,000 at IS this week, but, most have gone.
You can still get a place on the buses from the IS.
Not sure about package deals, stopped looking last week.
