Of all the things that have got us het up and debating vociferously in our close season boredom, I didn't think tennis would be a danger subject. It goes to show the passion of the posters on here but, all the same, I think I'll refrain from starting threads about the Olympic lawn bowls in the next few weeks just to be on the safe side...
Might spark a bit of life into him if they did. He must be of the dour Scots-Presbyterian type, where they wouldn't know a sense of humour if it came on their face
Speaking of humour-less people. Head over to the Norwich Board. They could do with a dose of the giggles, that crowd.
I genuinely think they would. I said since he was 18 he will never win a slam due to the hype about him supposedly dominating Men's Tour in 3 years time, then it went to 5 now 7. The British press and media are absolutely delusional if they think he will ever dominate tennis with the current top 3 being as good as they are. Does my head in
Sir Alex Ferguson! -====================================== Good luck to Murray, I really hope he does it.
F*ck me, they've just hoisted the Saltire over 10 Downing Street! Cameron is really crawling for the Scottish vote...
I have no interest in Tennis, which is odd bearing in mind any but any other sport gets me going (yes I have tickets to see Handball at the olympics...I will find out what it is before I go and see the Olympic womens champions Norway play). So I would like to see Murray win because he is British, but Federer is one of the world's greatest ever tennis players and this is the time for him to eclipse Sampas achievements. Murray is a different person now to the dour uncharismatic person of the last few years....so low down, don't really care I am a winner either way PS....I love on this macho board full of testosterone-fulled footy fans, nearly every thread descends into a discussion about cheese
Murray for me. He has earned the right to be there. Am I the only person in the world whio is beginning to get mildly irritated with the Fed's expressions about what an unbelievable game he played? Every time? Bit like listening to the Williams sisters year after year. Just wears a bit thin. It is a fact that he is the best tennis player the world has ever seen. However he has won it six times. if he is better on the day so be it. But I have no particular antipathy towards Murray and I will therefore be rooting for him.
