ha ha!! being serious though, their are about 10 teams that can spend more than us. (if its done on income 100% no owners cash) Man U Man City Chelsea Arsenal Liverpool Everton (maybe as they always seem to be skint) Aston Villa West Ham Newcastle us that is an educated guess. I tried to see shirt sponsorship deals but the 31 page pdf is €5000 http://www.sportundmarkt.com/de/news/list/jersey-report/european-football-jersey-report-201213.html would be nice to know but im not that desperate (or rich).
the problem with a wage cap now is, it will have to be more per week than the top player gets atm + 25% at least. Aguero is on £250,000pw i think so £312,000pw will be about 20 years before we can afford a weekly wage of that amount. you cant make it less as a load of players will be worse off, and if you say in 5 years it will be .... then no one will come here to play which = sky wont bankroll it = no one can afford the wages anyway = everyone will go abroad, a wage cap has to be worldwide as well so they cant just piss off abroad and get more than we can pay them. I really dont have a clue what the answer is but a wage cap and FFP isnt it. a draft type system and no transfer fees but i just cant see how that will be workable either.
It wouldn't bother me personally if they said in five years time. If they didn't come we could go back to the way it was and bring the young English players on. I honestly think the Sky bubble will burst sooner rather than later. As people wont keep paying the extra to watch. Just because someone is on obscene money now doesn't mean it can't be reduced. You never know it may come back to be our game. And not billionaires play things.
Well hopefully the FFP will make it not be a billionaires play thing, but they may still run the teams as they will be making money. Only time will tell though how its all going to work, most of it probably wont even change, RM wont be able to have a galacticos and Man City wont be able to spend 400 million in 2 years but then they dont have to now, giving bruce no cash was a travesty imho well he got cash but he had to sell to buy, and even then it was more loans than proper players. that was the time to spend 100 million with no comeback. like i said though time will tell.
This would be great for us imo. A top 10 to top 6 club would represent success as we haven't finished higher than 7th for almost 77 years. I think after another 3 transfer windows, the real MoN system and team will be at its peak and we will be a far better team for it.
totally agree mate, we certainly need Ellis to splash his cash to achieve that but once done I think we could be able to finally go down the route of 1 or 2 quality players each transfer window and be reliant on using money from the club not Ellis
