It only seemed terrible to you because FC lost. To someone less involved it was actually not a bad game.

Not at all, I can appreciate a good game regardless of the result, our last game against Chelsea for example.

Anyone that knows RL could see it was poor, if you found that game entertaining I suggest you watch the games today, your in for a treat.

No other sports fans whinge about refs the way RL fans do. It's every game, every week.

Because we never moan about the ref in football do we!?

Difference being its only the fans that moan in RL, coaches very rarely blame a defeat on the referee, which typically happens every single week in football.

Without going into details it was the right call, the pundits on sky are as useless Michael Owen. Although your right he still did get a lot wrong.
They are a lot more entertaining than Owen though, I don't understand a lot of the game so listening to them arguing is quite funny, I'm guessing they don't all get on!

I know the background, but I do find it odd they call themselves FC rather than RC or RLC. Then again, one sounds like arsey, and t'other like our Elsie, so maybe that's why the like being Football Club.

Its only the same as the numerous association football clubs that use FC in their names.

It's not though is it.

They may well share the same roots, but Football is synonymous all over the world with the round ball game we recognise today.

Go anywhere and mention a football club and they'll talk of the round ball game. The exception being America, who are well...American and play padded sumo.

I always worry about who sits in my seat at the KC.

I'm surprised none of them have realised the business opportunity involved with Steve Bruce. They could be paid to stand near him so he looks thin and attractive in comparison. Even some of the male fans could apply.

Hull are in real danger of relegation.

Pearson knows nowt about RL. Appointing the inexperienced Radford was a disaster but the cheap option.

Its still the same principle, using FC is an abbreviation regardless if it is referring to a rugby league club or an association soccer club.

Your also forgetting these clubs were named 150 years ago, how were they to predict how the modern regional or global colloquial adaptations were to evolve over the following century?

They would be if it was a standard system, but the whole super 8 thing means it is almost certain they will be playing in Super League again at the start of next season.

I haven't watched rugby for a long time but I saw the game last night , I was shocked how bad Hull FC were , just awful , they need a coach who has a clue

So they have relegation now but it doesn't just depend on where you finish in the table ?

According to their badge, they were named before RL was formed, which is why they hang on to the name. They're a football rather than a rugby club. (assuming the Gateshead franchise/bail out is ignored)

But to claim it's the same as a football club doing it is desperate nonsense.

Try it, ask anyone, even at an FC home game which football club they support and see how many realise you're talking about rugby league.

You've answered your first post with your first two sentences, how can you find it odd when you fully understand the origin of the name?

Or are you suggesting the rebrand to align themselves with regional colloquial adaptation?

<laugh> Your stubborn defence of rl on here is to be applauded. But you do sound like Comical Ali quite a bit of the time.
