I've just seen this article and suddenly everything made sense.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31126792

On my walk to the stadium on Sunday, I passed what must have been 100 plus green shirts blazened with F.C Groningen; not sure if anyone else saw this or saw them in the stadium. I may be naive but had no idea why they were there and was scouring Twitter for some form of reference. I obviously got the link to the Dutch contingent but didnt know it related to Ronalds former playing career. Long and short is that it is bloody exciting to see foreigners en mass coming to our games and long may it continue.

Yeah, they were at the ground - they knew the songs and had a trumpet with them too!
