I accept your point, but I think it's worth remembering the Prem is even more now fractured into probably 4 mini leagues. So whilst we may well nick a few points off the big boys, I don't think we need to worry about how one player would cope against the likes of Rooney, Bale and Mata.
This works for me. My only concern is that Dudge looked poor defensively early in the season but mainly as he was running down the wing and knocking some great balls in a-la Brady later in the season. Rosie in the last 6 matches or so when he came on was outstanding and looked to have been doing so work on his going forward. He gave Elmo more freedom to attack, and their link up play at times was excellent. To me Rosie is almost guaranteed a regular start, probably in an attacking 4-5-1.
Fully deserved...it's the Holts, Lamberts and Adebeyours that Faye will have to deal with, none of our other centre halves are as strong as the big man. Look what happened when Miller and Boro played against him, they got a beating!
I'm delighted he's got an extension. You could see how much he enjoyed earning Promotion here. He said he enjoyed it more than the West Ham one last Season by a mile. I don't think we need to worry about him playing against the likes of Hazard, Mata, Van Pursie, Bale etc because he's probably only going to be used for the more physical games like Stoke and West Ham. He starts will be few and far between I reckon. He loves it here and wants Hull City to be the last Club he plays for professionally (if I remember him saying correctly) and wanted one last crack at the Premier League. Great guy.
faye has been my favourite player all season. I wasn't sure what to expect from him, only remember him from stoke but he's been an absolute beast in defence. Strongest defender we have, didn't make that many mistakes and if he can contribute from set pieces like he did at the start of the season he'll be a great asset.
Agree with most of this, however I still remember how Wayne Brown was immense for us in our 2008 promotion year only to be found wanting once we were up against the big boys. As has been stated by a previous poster, I also think he will only be used against the bruisers (eg Stoke) so maybe he will be fine, I really hope so 'cos he's been one of my favourites this season.
Don't forget faye was a beast for stoke in the PL a few years ago wereas brown was always a lower league player from essex
Well yeah, but Wayne Brown hadnt had 6 years in the Premier League.... I admit I just checked that and did anyone else forget he went to Newcastle after Bolton? Cos I did.
Well deserved and has been more than a Rock during the run in. Will deffo be needed for the games with Stoke City and when we come up against Andy Carroll.
