Derby's loss to The Lions certainly shows how unpredictable this league is and how you can't take any game for granted. We've got to show the same application against Wigan, Millwall, Rotherham etc as we did against Wolves, Watford, Blackburn and the Binners.

It's do-able now - let's make it happen.

COYY !

Another thing - we need to make sure we keep banging in the goals; it would be a killer if we lost out on automatic (or the play-offs to be less overconfident) on goal difference.

Win tomorrow, we go second, but let's not take the foot off the pedal at any time. Make the goal difference comfortable.

Really? Thought Boro would have been after their win tonight? Wow, the bookies really have cottoned on to us now, as have the media - anyone hear AN on the Monday Night Club this week?
Win by two goals tomorrow and we'll have the best goal difference in the division, with the (on paper at least) easiest run-in, best squad and with all the momentum, so probably not surprising the odds have shortened. Just need to make sure we do the business and get the three points against Wigan

I have to agree with you Munky and we have to tackle each game like a cup final and do our darnedest to win each one.
It would be great if we can get to have the best GD in the league and now our defence is more solid, I see no reason why we can't. I'm sure some of the positions wlil be decided on GD at the end of the season

I haven't seen C Martin lately is he injured?.

In fairness the bookies are reacting to events. Let's be honest TMC was way ahead of the game.
Munky thought we could win the league?
First I've heard he's just jumping on the bandwagon since Carabuh (aka the oracle) prophesied our good run.
Even I'm starting to think we may scrape the play offs or maybe better.:emoticon-0136-giggl

I was trying not to give Carrabah too much credit as it may be pointed out forever <laugh>

Derby continue to implode, and the bookies respond swiftly by making us favourites for winning the league. God i hope we can keep our **** together to pull this off!

Derby aren't quite 'imploding' Battersea. I listened to the Brighton match on Player and as the Pink'un says: "Despite seeing the visitors dominate for long spells, the Seagulls claimed all three points thanks to Dale Stephen’s fortuitous 69th-minute effort and substitute Kazenga LuaLua’s drilled finish". That's a fair reflection on the match from what I heard and even the Brighton commentators were saying the same. It's all about results though and what is hurting Derby is their loss of both Martin and Bent through hamstring injuries. Our large squad will be hugely important in the run-in, where injuries, loss of form and fatigue will begin to affect smaller squads. The key, as you say, is holding "our **** together to pull this off!"

Tony Munky was definitely the first, long before the 'oracle', and I'm afraid most of us laughed at his optimism! ;) Credit where credit is due! :emoticon-0148-yes:

Im amazed at how close even the goal difference is this season
Derby +29
Boro +29
Watford +28
Bournemouth +31
Norwich +29
And only 4 points between those 5 teams
That's pretty nuts! Is this the closest end to a season ever? I can't remember it ever being THIS tight.

I just thought it was completely bizarre that people were writing off our chances after the Birmingham game with 16 still games still remaining, I just could not comprehend that train of thought at all with so much of the season still to play. People seemed to genuinely believe that our best hopes were "scraping in the play-offs" which would only have taken a measly three points swing, even though there were still 48 points to be won and lost - it was just staggeringly cautious of people and I didn't get it at all.

People were saying that the clubs at the top would need a catastrophic meltdown for us to have any chance, and I didn't see that at all, we only needed to win three more games than those above us to catch up - and lo and behold we've done that already! Someone even went as far as to say our chances of finishing top two were virtually the same as the odds against winning the lottery!!! Bizarre!!!

Of course I never predicted us going on quite such a spectacular run as we have done recently (and hope to continue the next few games as well), and like the gaffer, I didn't expect us to make up the ground this swiftly, but I was confident that the strength and depth of our squad compared with those of our rivals was going to massively come into play as we hit later stages, and that is exactly what is happening with others losing key players to injury while we can afford the ridiculous luxury of leaving players who would be first name on the team sheets for others such as Jerome, Hooper, Turner, Dorrans etc on the bench.

Have to as I'm rather pleased I managed to put my money where my mouth is and have a very good chance of cleaning up at the bookies, though still plenty of work to be done yet between now and the finale so as great as it is to see people's expectation levels changing, we need to make sure we don't get too complacent as there are still games that could trip us up so nothing is won or lost just yet.

Looking pretty bloody good though isn't it!! <somersault>

If GD is equal it then goes to goals scored! I think we're a bit behind on that!

You are correct Dave! We need to score 3 goals tonight to get the best goal difference (otherwise we will be equal to Bournemouth with one fewer goal scored.

Score five goals tonight and we'll be the leagues top scorers.
