I've just sat and been blown away by a film on Netflix staring Jason Sudeikis and Ed Harris.
"Kodachrome" 2018.
Harris is a world famous photographer that chose his career over family. He has travelled the world taking photos in warzones, Africa, Asisa and for presidents.Jason Sudeikis plays his astranged Son who works for a record label. The film is set sometime in the mid to late 2000s but never actually specifies. Kodac as a company is finished and Ed Harris (Ben) has 4 roles of film that he has had for years, his "best work", that needs developing by the only company left developing his specific film roles, its closing its doors for the last time in 5 days time in Tennessee and wants Sudeikis (Matt) to go with him...... Ben lives in New york. Ben is dying of Cancer and wants to drive from New York to tennessee to get it developed.
Absolutely worth a watch. Harris is brilliant He plays a self centered, cantankerous bellend that doesn't give a s**t. It's go love, 2nd chances, last chances, regret, sorry, longing and the right amount of a humour so its not full blown downer, drama, laughs and cries. It has a mid 2000s vibe to it and a sound track similar to Good Will hunting, that easy going middle of the road haunting sound with some cracking scenery in it. I honestly can't believe I haven't heard of it or seen it yet. Can't recommend it enough. 1 hour 40 run time.
