In about 2 hours I will be beginning a massive 4 days away from the office... Which is the US equivalent of being out for 26 days in a row in the UK.
I've been on annual leave since the first week of this month, go back to work on bonfire night. Not been bored once, mind you I truly hate my job.
Just lemon and sugar at home mate ... although I love crepes suzette in a restaurant if done nicely. Crepes in France are different league. Best pancake I've had out in the UK was at the Saucy Chef in St Ives, Cornwall. Black cherries flambed in Brandy with a most unhealthy dollop of clotted cream ... mouthgasm
I get 20 work days off a year (holidays such as Xmas day come out of that 20) and if I'm sick, or have surgery, it comes out of that 20. I do have a bonus week off this year too because of a project I completed recently that was well received but my boss couldn't give me financial bonus so gave me a week "under the table" vacation... Not official but I get an extra week I don't have to record being out .
I'm hopefully gonna St Ives next year so will give that a whirl ! I do like Ice cream and maple Syrup
I like Boxing Day. Usually too hungover to enjoy Christmas Day. It’s a great day where drinking from 9am is acceptable. Your family have ****ed off. Nice left overs, make ham, go to the pub for bit knowing the next day you can do it all again.
The actual answer is being on holiday, pick any day bar the travel days, but out of the list Christmas Eve pisses it. Morning dog walk and coffee & bacon butty on the beach, evening or late afternoon pub meal with kids and Mrs and Mrs's fam, get back to the house and the wood burner, kids to bed, a drink or two more, get the sacks out when they're asleep. Best day by far, Christmas day is great but it's knackering. Do love that as well though, assembling presents and such **** in the morning while she preps the food, then doing a full English for us all. After that hovering about being a mainly superfluous on hand parody Dad with a half full glass of red wedged in either hand. Sometime both hands.
