Favourite UK cities... Chester, Bath, Edinburgh, York. York would probably piss it, but I live right next door so it's become very normal to me over the years. I am inclined to agree that countryside trumps cities however - in that regard the Lakes are fantastic, but I was very, very impressed with stay in the Surrey Hills last year. Amazing place for eating, drinking, walking and biking. Not cheap though. Non UK city... difficult to say, but at a push, Rio, as long as you stay in the right areas!
Gotta say fellas, walking down the street in Manhattan last week, just down from Maddison Square Garden there's a black guy lying on the path in a terrible state, crying his eyes out. I'm sure we've all seen homeless people out on the street, this poor bloke was the worst I've ever seen and I couldn't help feeling sorry for him. New York is full of homeless people. But what can you do?
Where abouts in Surrey were you? Lived all over the county, mainly in the hills between Reigate-Guildford! It is super expensive and comparable to Inner City London prices - I'm used to paying £6-8 for a pint and am always amazed where I go anywhere else and its still £3.50 like down in Taunton when I go and visit friends, I get so **** faced because it's so cheap in comparison!
Stayed in a little place called Farley Green and popped to Shere, Peaslake, Godalming etc. Lovely area, cracking country pubs and great for getting out and about on the XC bike. Bridleways all over.
Love it! It's great countryside out there, use to go to Godalming College back in the day. Godalming's a lovely quintessential surrey village - Saw Cameron Diaz there while she was filming "The Holiday" - hated her at the time as I was so high (99% of the time at college) and they blocked off the road to Piggies sandwich shop down by the church, its gone now but it'll live long in the memories of the TSC (Tuesday's Stoners Club).
Cameron Diaz... I'd crawl through a mile of broken glass just to stick my fingers in her ****. Unless she closed the sarnie shop.
