I think we should have a thread for some of the worse players to play for us. But I fear it would be a very long thread.
We used to have regular testimonials for long service players, Paddy Powell even had two. I think his second one was probably the last, sadly attracted a crowd of less than 4,000.
I used to see Gritt at Sparrows Lane to watch the U-18's. Even after the club had dispensed with his services he kept going for a while. True club loyalty.
Definitely Rob Lee. He is still my all-time favourite player. I loved Mark Reid, Big Carlo and Gritty. All great servants to our club. I met Peter Shirtliff when I was about ten years old. I remember he seemed to be a giant of a man. A great era for memories, but also tinged with sadness for an obvious reason.
