As horrible as it was, I loved that one too. Have just ploughed my way through all the Game of thrones books by G.R.R Martin. They do sort of peak at the third book and the fifth one drags a bit. Had a spate working through classic crime fiction: Dashiell Hammett was good but a little frustrating in the way he writes, Jim Thompson's Pop 1280 was very good (and really quite nasty), James Ellroy and Elmore Leonard are really different but both amazing in those different ways. Raymond Chandlers are beautifully written, very very good reads. Anyone wants to read any of them, I recommend: Raymond Chandler: The Big Sleep. Jim Thompson: Pop.1280 and Killer inside me. James Ellroy: Black Dahlia and Big Nowhere (BN is the better of the two but the second in the series) Elmore Leonard: La Brava
pray tell KJ without me having to google, ok I googled, you read the trilogy? sounds like a great read
I really enjoyed reading "I am Zlatan" - ghostwriter biography of the greatest active footballer on the scene today...
Currently reading game of thrones. Nearly finished it, if you are watching the series I'd recommend reading the books. Bloody brilliant.
Dai, given you are an ex service man, give Scott Mariani a try. His books are about a former SAS captain. All fiction of course
Ashley Williams, My Premier League Diary - LOL Game of Thrones, very good but does ramble Barbara Erskine for Ghost Stories, wife's book but enjoy them.
atm for light relief reading Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum books. pardon my ignorance but I have heard a lot about this game of thrones, in 20 words or less what exactly is it all about?
Anything by Mark Haddon. "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time" A Spot of Bother" "The Red House". Also Tony Parsons
you should continue with reading Robert Graves: "I Claudius", which IS a real book, and not just made up to create a tv-series.
Malcolm Gladwell - Tipping point, Blink, What the Dog Saw, Outliers - are great books that look at things from a challenging perspective - those who enjoyed the conspiracy 5thread will love them
Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith. Bit of a book! There are 3 in total, the first is brilliant, second is a good read, third is OK but its got nothing on the first. Id reccommend it.
