I thought Coldplay's first 2 albums were brilliant, largely down to the obvious Radiohead influence. After that they went downhill bigtime.
Coldplay... Mylo Xyloto (is that even how you spell it?!) is one of my least favourite albums of recent years. Not a fan at all. Except for Viva la Vida, I quite like that.
Strawberry Swing, IMO, is the best song of all time. Not just the best Coldplay song, but best song. It's absolutely amazing.
My catelogue would include Earth Wind and Fire, Curtis Mayfield, a lot of the material produced by Gamble&Huff of Philly fame, Holland/Dozier/Holland, Stanley Clarke, Peter White and the outrageous Cameo!! Also Level 42 (Isle of Wight boys), Prefab Sprout and some Latino stuff (Jazz FM on Friday between 11 and 12 at night!

Not bands as such, but Nas, Big L, Mobb Deep, Wu Tang Clan (and their solo projects), Rakim, ASAP Rocky, Biggie.
Jay Z is average, his freestyle with Big L just showed him up big time. Kanye West is very poor. AZ is also very good.
If we're talking about solo artists, there's two words for you: Ellie Goulding...... she's my celebrity crush
Jay-Z is a good artist overall, and Kanye has put out 4 brilliant albums, not the best rapper but an amazing producer and probably the best Hip-Hop artist out there.
