Come on Arry. Of course no player is bigger than the club but as you said yourself you need players who really care about the club in this fight and Ali is one of those. Yes he's not been up to his high standards but who has!?
Ale's poor standard though is because of a physical limitation since his injury. He didnt exactly have bags of pace before his injury and now its all but gone and when attacking he cant get back for counter attacks and getting foward he is too deep to offer any attacking threat as he slowly jogs forward. He is playing box to box but cant make the runs to support that dynamic. M'Bia on the other hand is ALL over the place and thats the kind of pace you need...he hasnt been perfect but you need both players in that position to have the pace to support both attacking and defensive roles. Seeing Faurlin leave wont be nice, as he has been a key figure in our squad, but Harry needs to remould the squad and if Faurlin has to go to let someone better come in then so be it.
This!! I know we have to trust Arry & he's doing his best to keep us up but if we do go down we won't have the players to get us back up!
I don't think he has really had a run in the team and agree with others looks a little off the pace and has played in a poor team with no direction i.e. with MH, but I would love to see him stay as I bet he comes good again and pick him before Granero.
Ale's one of the few who will stay and fight if we go down. Perhaps Harry thinks he's too similar to Granero? Well i certainly can't see Granero hanging around if we're in the championship.
This is true of a 4-4-2 system, although even then, one of the two central midfielders can stay much deeper in front of the back four. The problem with M'Bia is that he has, indeed run all over the place, but we were playing him as a holding midfielder in a 4-2-3-1. He hasn't got the positional sense to play there imo. Faurlin has, but his lack of pace has certainly been exposed by the Premier League. If his apparent further lack of pace is due to his injury, one would hope that regular game time would help.
A cm has to get forward in a 442, he can sit in a 4231, especially if he partners mbia who likes to get forward.
Truely dissapointed in what he's achieved this season, but he's only been as crap as the rest of the team have. Had high hopes for this guy before his injury and honestly thought he'd make the step up. Personally I'd keep him and let him fully recover from that injury to see what he can do. i believe (hope more like) he'll stay IF we go down.
