Phew.. my first (and surely not last) difference of opinion on this site. Makelel was world class so I guess it is the same thing Rollercoaster. Ruislip, re shooting... he aint Zico. Thanks Telford.
Whats that supposed to mean.If he gets in a position to score and he hits the corner flag, thats ok ??
No. Of course not. It means he is not perfect but he brings so much to the team.. I don't know where to start with this.. wish we we're talking face to face and I had a set square and a pencil.. um.. he's a class act. He really is. (All I've done her is re-iterate my previous, not add to it I know. I' blame this cider.)
Unfortunatey,we must agree to disagree,I think he is overated and will bring very little to the squad that we now have.Enjoy the cider !!
scratch one barn door. http://www.soccerclips.net/videos/wolves-0-2-qpr-faurlin carefull where you click on this site.
For me Ale was far and away the best player we had at the Club this season until his injury. I really hope he gets that form back - Ale and Diakite playing together in central midfield with an in form Derry, Barton or a Parker will give us a real solid, creative and energetic centre.
I understand what ruslip is saying but i can't agree with it. Our MAJOR problem this season has been retaining the ball mainly due to not having players capable of doing so. I think faurlin is a very clever player and now having a front runner like cisse we may now see the kind of passes you say he lacks. There is no point passing forward just for the sake of it. Sometimes you have to go back or sideways to draw the opposition out of space to then enable that forward pass to hopefully a player running into the vacated space.
Faurlin keeps things simple, winning possession and retaining it by playing the simple ball and making himself available for a return pass. It's not rocket science but look at how many times that simple link-up was missing in the 2nd half of the season. He also has the capability to play the more telling longer pass when the opportunity presents itself. I think MH will have a more significant role for him next season...
Here's the annual "Is Faurlin good enough for the season ahead" thread. Yes he is. As someone said, it's the ability to retain posession in tight spaces (ie his composure) that sets him out. He also reads the game pretty well and gets stuck in. Xavi doesn't always make killer passes, keeping it simple more often than not, but he's still world class. People notice when they watch him or hear how many times he's involved but the lack of pizazz about what he does means that he does get less headlines than Messi or Iniesta. AF's the same (at a slightly reduced level admittedly) but is of a standard of a top half team at least. MH might even make him better...
Bob this IMO is correct It's shouldn't be rocket science for Col and Flyer etc (The Andy Gray Study Group) to actually get a few formations correct next season. I will however add that Faurlin's injury may be a hard one to come back from and perform to the standards some may instantly expect This summer will yield some real rubbish on here regarding theories etc ... In advance I will state I intend to have a lot of fun looking at these At the moment without doubt Bob seems to be the best bloke who is a fan and understands football
I will add I agree with old SB73 etc Without his injury he would be a target for a another club I think he is worth easily 15m at least ... Love the bloke
Spot on. I must admit I only realised how important he was to the team when he was missing. The ability to keep position is vital.
