He was top of the 'tackles won' in the Prem at the time he got crocked and by a considerable margin, possibly due to our rubbish defence as well...

When Faurlin was fit he was the best player at the club. At least a 7 out of 10 every game.

Fer is a 9 one game and a 2 the next

Remember that stat in our original promotion season he got injured in FA Cup against MK Dons. He still finished that season 2nd top tackles in prem behind Scott Parker

He is able to retain possession better than any player here in last 20 years playing it short and long

Assuming contract is sensible it's not even a gamble. Great signing

You have the wrong injury. This was in the Premier under Warnock. He was injured in the FA Cup at Milton Keynes in the January.

Haha, the fact that I'm mixing up which season ending injury says a lot! I've got a lot of time for him, decent player on his day but not really a game changer, however he does play with his heart on his sleeve which I respect. Players who get these injuries once or twice rarely get back to 100%, id love to be surprised but can see him out of action before Xmas!!

Whatever his relative merits (see above), everyone would agree that he was a very good player for the club and could be so again. I am sure every QPR fan will wish him well for the coming season and be praying for it to be injury-free, for his sake and for the sake of the club. GOOD LUCK, ALE!!!

Think the club have done the right thing by only giving one year, plus an option for another year after. He's the best passer at the club but people have rightly pointed out his knees. We won't know if the knees will hold up without playing him but haven't tied ourselves down with a long contract. He is without doubt the right sort of person to have at the club. Loves the club. Fans love him. Think the deal is the best compromise for everyone

I'm sure the medical team have carried out a full assessment of his injuries and are happy with the outcome. Presumably he wouldn't have been offered a contract if not.

Also worth mentioning that if my memory serves me well, most of the cases sighted re. ACL injuries and a loss of form, often refer to players that used speed as a part of their game. (Michael Owen being a classic example.) Ali's game isn't based on speed, so that might be a bit of a silver lining. Be interesting to see how he goes in for his first full blooded tackle. That is where I think the crux of the matter will lay.

Having torn my ACL for the first time this week, how anyone can come back from doing it three times without topping themselves, let alone to build up the fitness to play professional sport, is beyond me and says a lot about the man.

I just hope he can still play, and stays healthy. I am sure he does too

My goodness, players that actually want to play for us - Mackie, now Faurlin. Bring on August

He´s a footballer he plays football, he doesn´t build houses or treat patients or teach kids, he plays football. There is a massive financial incentive for him to keep playing football so of course he is going to try to come back and of course he loves the game - another incentive.

I for one am glad he is back he is a good football player and I really hope he has an injury-free season but this is deja-vu for the fourth-time.

Apologies Maple I should have tagged this on Wats post one before yours.

I think it would be incredibly tempting to pack it in and do something else. He's probably got enough cash to live a reasonable life assuming he's invested some fairly wisely. To do the rehab required three times is physical torture but mentally must be near impossible.

We can´t really second guess what people do with their money but he seems to be a little more grounded than most professional footballers (he´s not completely covered in tattoos :emoticon-0105-wink:) sure you are right it takes incredible physical and mental effort to overcome a serious injury 3 times and so as I say I really hope he has an injury-free season but for the want of playing football he may jeopardise his long term health.
