He has won over half a million pounds Ste and had enough class to win the Neptune. By the way, whichever horses win the Champion Hurdle and Gold Cup this season they will only be doing so by default!
It's obviously sore on you that your beloved TNO has been found out by the Irish horses both years at Cheltenham it's become a painful subject To clarify: It's embarrassing if it's stuffed again for those that believe the scrubber is a 'class' bet as has been posted. It's my view he has no chance in a Champion Hurdle, never had and never will At least he won't be stuffed a dozen lengths by Faugheen, but he'll not be winning, that's for sure
To clarify Beefy. I love the horse to bits. I have not and will not back him. I will be over the moon if he wins. He was desperately unlucky when Our Connor hampered him and for the record he stuffed the Irish Banker when he hosed up in the Neptune! No embarrassment losing twelve lengths to Faugheen, most have! 5/2 for 2017 tonight! I am also sorry that you took my text out of context.
TNO of 2013/2014 would have a chance but not this year. Doesn't look the same horse to me. Arctic Fire has to be the rightful favourite after last years excellent 2nd? Nothing else has ever run on so well behind Faugheen? Nichols Canyon should be better for alright ground too. I still think Mullins has best chance.
MYTOY @ 25's and Sempre Medici @50's now looking pretty good! Not as good as I would have like the outcome of the race but could be worst ! The latter I really like! Stays further and will mop up the lot infront powering up that hill!!
Funny how Mullins stable Star is ruled out of defending his Champion Hurdle crown, yet he still trains the first 4 in the betting. The guys got a complete monopoly of things at the moment.
Nicholls Canyon will be able to lead which will improve his chance but a very tough couple of runs at Christmas and late January isn't particularly great prep. If he leads he'll set it up for Arctic Fire to come off the pace again. Whether he wins, I don't know, but he's got a decent chance.
Without Faugheen it has to be one of the weakest looking Champion Hurdles in memory. Primed for some young gun to come along and steal the show but there just isn't anything in the race that looks unexposed.
On the new one I believe he won't win the champion hurdle, good horse but missed his chance a couple of years ago. I've said this already but as I look out my window at my perfectly manicured garden at the keep off the grass sign. We have only a few weeks to go to the festival, we are gonna need a biblical heatwave to give this mystical Spring ground that everyone talks about so for me I'm looking at course form from this year. Faugheen is a big lose but this opens the race up and I think we will get a big price winner. For me it's camping ground. He didn't get three miles but hosed up over two and a half over a good field in what looked very easy. He's got good form and I believe two miles is right up his street. If he turns up I expect him to be pricewised Cheers.
What a gent Mr Henderson is. This is his response to Faugheen’s injury – "I feel desperately sorry for Willie and Rich. It opens the race up, of course, but that's not the point. It's the time of year for these things, I'm afraid. Gary Moore has had it with Ar Mad, we've had to rule out Simonsig and I'm sure it will happen again somewhere in the space of the next few weeks, but there won't be any as high-profile as Faugheen, obviously. We've seen this happen so many times - we all know it's going to happen - and you just pray it's not going to be one of yours. It's a real blow for Willie and Rich. They've got other big guns to fire, several of them, in fact, but I'm sure this one will be hard to take. It's not going to change our plans. All we can do is concentrate on trying to get our horses there in one piece. There's more hard work to be done yet and we just want to get them there sound and healthy." Perfectly sums up the perils of NH racing and the fragility of the breed. Still I’m sure these words will be of great comfort to Bill Mullins and Rich Richtea. I’m sure I speak for everyone on the forum when I say outstanding speech, Mr Henderson.
If he was that much of a gentleman he would have offered Mr Mullins the services of his witchdoctor so that Faugheen could do a Binocular.
