There really isn't anyone good enough to take over at the moment, so anything now should be interim. If Wenger hangs up his boots at the end of this season, i would go all out and get him. I might criticise him as i believe he's lost his edge since his early days, but he's still comfortably better than any ENGLISH manager in the league.
For me, the whole thing is just so god damn funny, this is a man who said that this was the job that he wanted all his life, he finally gets that said job, but despite being paid three million a year to do his 'dream job' he risks everything by being a greedy **** and wanting an extra £400k, this is a story of pure greed, which basically sums up English football, and in fact a way of life in this country now. I was very annoyed when fat Sam got the England job. The last thing we needed was another old school tactically useless English manager.
Hopefully this will mean the FA actually appoints someone with an understanding of the modern game.

A lot of talk on Radio 5 Live today about Wenger taking over. What are your thoughts about that ?
It would make sense but not at this moment. Arsene has spent 20 years of his life here. When he does move on from Arsenal, it would make sense for him to take the England job. Less hours, maybe the same amount if not more stress but it means not relocating.
It would mean semi-retirement for him so I wouldn't be shocked if he does. If anyone can turn this poisoned chalice that is the England Job into a Holy Grail, he would be the man to do it.
Wenger is the most logical choice. Has bags of experience at the highest level and knows the Prem inside and out. He also knows the culture as well as the media very well. If anyone can get this band of misfits into a competitive unit, while establishing a good relationship with the FA and the media it's him.
It's also a lot less intense compared to club football, which would be beneficial for someone at his age.
Also he gets to concentrate solely on coaching rather than the financial and political side of club football.
England get a top manager that knows the English game inside and out and can will also leave a lasting legacy behind, making key suggestions on improving the infrastructure and grassroots. The FA would be foolish not to make him their number one target.
