They've not really got anyone to play out wide though. I know they've got a couple of good CMs, but out wide they do lack quality. Note that Sweden didn't qualify for the WC so it's not as if it's that good a midfield.
Technically we have one win in 2, and that was 6-0. In our last 8 we've also played chelsea, man united, arsenal and liverpool and we didn't lose against anyone else. we're just getting into an easier run of games now. Full steam ahead!
On that basis, teams like Iran, Costa Rica and Honduras have better midfields. (Also they were in a qualifying group with Germany, so playoffs were a cert)
I doubt he'd manage half a dozen responses if he'd pulled the same **** stunt on the Sunderland board tbh.
To be fair, they've a fair few decent posters, but one or two noisy types drown them out. It's a shame because the noisier ones tend to be clueless and spoil it for the more informed posters.
Didn't you expect to be above us at the start of the season? Especially, with all that money you've spent. Just because it's taken you half the year to get on level terms doesn't make it any better. Plus, you'll get dicked on by Man City in the final anyway.
One Wind-Up-Merchant creates numerous Wound-Up-Mugs; pretty sad really. I do wonder over the wisdom of bragging about a paltry five point advantage at this stage of the season. I hope it doesn't come back and bite.
Oh dear how sad. You need to worry more on your own teams problems which are many. Lmao when you go down.
I dont understand Rodgers getting praise. He complains every time he gets an injury about a lack of depth in his squad yet not making his team he has Joe Allen, Borini, Alberto, Assaidi, Aspas, Llori etc, etc. That's £40m that HE spent on creating the depth that he now moans he doesnt have. Puts Bruce's under £20m on his first team into context I feel.
Yes Bruce has paid high prices for Long and Jelavic but when you put them alongside Gayle for Crystal P and Altidonkey for Sunderland it brings it more into perspective .Especially when you consider Sagbo has more talent than Jozy.
I don't think they are high prices in todays game. Two Strikers from the Premier League that have a proven goal scoring record at this level. I think its a very shrewd bit of business. Remember Carroll for 35m.
What do you consider a proven goal scoring record? I'd agree with Jellybitch, the ability is there but he needs to get an early goal for confidence & consistency. Long has a poor PL goal scoring record, I don't see anything that we don't have better than already.
If you look at the last 3 years of him in the PL he has a 1 in 4 goal scoring record. Which striker on our team is on that kind of pace? None. So when you mean he isnt better than what we already have you mean exactly what? 19 in 81 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shane_Long
In 141 PL games he's scored 24 goals (nearly 1:6) & very few assists (I think 5 in the previous 2 seasons). He's scored in 2 games this season & in the first 3 games of the season not only did he not score but neither did the team. He's only ever scored more than 9 once in his carear, that was in the Championship. If we go off his carear stats & he plays in the remaining games then we should be expecting 2-3 goals this season If we go off his season's stats then he may score in a couple of games. I don't rate him. I rate Aluko, Koren, Sagbo & others all better than him.
