    Churchill was opposed to the fire bombing of Dresden, and was never an enthusiast for the bombing of civilians. Bomber command were convinced they could shorten the war by these methods, and he reluctantly allowed them to convince him.

    Just pointing out the facts. Not saying Churchill didn't have blood on his hands (he did). On this occasion though, I felt compelled to draw attention to an example of the lazy half arsed interpretation of history to which the left are so often prone.

    Of course, I realise that people of strong political persuasion generally prefer emotional binges to objective analysis, but there you go.
