Mike I know am gonna be in the minority here but I have attended every major tournament England have participated since 1990, this has cost me the best part of £40k so I have every reason to be pissed off especially after the Africa debacle.
Lets examine that.
After failure TO QUALIFY for Euro 2008 under an English manager (another media led campaign to endorse a complete clown in Mcclaren just because he was English) we appointed the best qualified coach the FA could find,he was being heralded as a fantastic coup. The media said no more WAGs circuses, no more dentist chairs, no more 'off the field antics' Cappelo wont stand for it, A breath of fresh air they said, plus such a fantastic coaching record.
A bit of Italian discipline they wanted!
We qualified fot the World cup 2010 with aplomb, (as we always did under our last non-English manager) and off we went with a bit of italian discipline structured in to the England camp, however this didn't suit our little darling players, oh no. if we cant get bolloxed and shag the local totty we are gonna throw our toys out of the pram. We're bored they bleated, lets not try very hard.
Those players were wearing the 3 Lions when they went out and acted like spoilt 3 year olds during that world cup and Rooney was the worst, I had travelled 20 hours by plane and car to just to get to that game and if I could have kicked anyone in the bollocks it would have been Rooney not Capello!
I'm not saying mistakes weren't made during that period, they were. But they were media led by tired old hacks who have consistently undermined the England team at major tournaments for as long as I can remember. They love it all going wrong, nothing suits them better.
Now we are back to The little Englanders crying out for an ENGLISHMAN with a bit of passion for it all. unfortunately we learned that never works as far back as the 1970's. besides the fact the English options aren't all that anyway!
Back to not being able to qualify for major tournaments again with an 'ENGLISHMAN' just like under Taylor and McClaren.
The inevitable circle turns again...

Oh come now, don't sound so surprised, I know my life is full of delusions and hallucinations exhibiting psychotic symptoms but there is normally truth in my opinions.
Spot on mate........He was a good manager and can't understand those who wanted him out.....his % rate of games was the best, which even includes Sir Alf.
Easily quilified us for the World cup and Euros..........ok not great at the tournement.....but IMO most of it was down to the piss poor players we had.
Problem is, most fans think we are better than we really are.........
Question is, what players are concidered WORLD class for England?????? I can't think of one....good players yes, world class....not a chance.
Another question is...we know Arry will be favourite......but will he really want it?????
It's a job where as the media etc will hype it all up, Arry being the best manager ever and then one bad result or selection and he will be scum........Not sure with what he has at Spurs he would want to give that up..
i think rooney has to be considered as world class. for the record i hate him but he is 1 hell of a player. everyone else either good players as you say or were once world class but lost it due to age which includes cole and rio and gerrard and lampard.
I'm with Shiny - Alan Pardew for me all the way. Considering all the stuff he's had to put up with at Newcastle like their potty owner, Joey Barton, selling their best players et al, he's done a very impressive job, and he doesn't come with all the nonsense that others would bring.
Due to the timing, this all just seems like a done deal to me, and the people in the FA have proved time and time again over the past 20 years that they a) know absolutely **** all about football b) will never do the right thing even when it's blatantly obvious c) can't put a decent World Cup bid together despite spending £21m d) just want to make money from famous players, and e) results (when it really matters i.e in tournaments) are secondary to all that.
So from me it's a massive no no no to shady Rednapp, just imagine the ****ing under achieving hangers on we'd get to complete the management team - sick note Jamie Rednapp, and that massive international flop Beckham. Another recipe for success if ever I saw one. Not !

dont think it matter's who get the job, if the get it all wrong they will be hated, i think it will be 'arry but he wont give up at tottenham and do both jobs
Doesn't matter who gets it, they will be trumpeted in as heroes to fill the papers and media slots with badly needed news, then they will be vilified and slated when England 'the home of football' doesn't win every major tournament we enter (because it's our birth right)

Respect mate for the commitment to the England cause so i can understand your thoughts.
For me i would appoint Glen Hoddle because i think we played our most attractive football under him. Plus i'm hoping whoever gets the job will have a little honeymoon period like our 2 clubs have had with a new manager.

The FA has made a right cock up of the Terry situation though. They had two options that were viable, do nothing, or suspend him from selection completely, and the second of those I'm not sure is appropriate in light of the trial. That's what would happen with disciplinary action in a normal work place, you'd either be suspended or left carrying out your duties as normal until the hearing.
Instead what they've done is interfere with a footballing decision. They've decided that Terry is fine to represent England. If that's the case then it should be up to the manager to decide what duties he carries out as a player.
Having been in a management position at work I know if my bosses had come in and started telling me that one member of my staff wasn't allowed to do duties that everyone else in their position was allowed to I'd have been annoyed as well. If they're fine to represent the company to the public then it should be up to me how I use them.
