Fair play Spanish at least you can take it as well as dishing it and I do respect your point of view! ....Like hell
Strange thing is, under Jewell it was us against the world but then in came Mick and drove a wedge between us!!
I don't think those players you mention are what we need.. Marriot - is young, and needs to be introduced slowly without pressure on him (I would say in a game we are 4-1 up at half time but apparently those games aren't won yet ) Taylor - was clearly not match fit and has only lasted the full 90mins for 1 game at Posh since his loan started 5 games ago. He had a VERY long time out of the game so it's going to take time to build up not only his match fitness but his physical fitness too. Wordworth - not too sure, I can only assume he isn't impressing in training, out of the players you mention he is the one I would agree might be worth taking a chance on Hewitt - also very young and doesn't need added pressure. He has played a few games and done well, but his biggest weaknesses are defensive which isn't good in a defender! I really do hope Marriot and Taylor will be options on the bench in the future when they are ready - at the moment the predictable Murphy off, Nouble on... Anderson off, Tabb on is starting to irritate me!
We are both passionate supporters of ITFC and I like the banter we have, it's nothing personal and at least it makes this forum a bit more interesting when we are arguing the toss!
I'm glad we have Mick right now but I do wish he could be a bit more adventurous when we need to change things. We are making progress though and are just a couple of decent players away from being a good team.
Yes I like Taylor but he's one of those I think Mick will struggle with because he's unpredictable and he won't really know where to put him in a 442. What I've seen of Wordsworth he certainly has the talent and looks very very composed on the ball and makes good runs into the box basically when he gets the ball he looks like he has a bit of class but drifts in and out of games too much to be a real contender in a midfield 4 in a 442 and I'm not sure that is something you can really coach. For me he'd look best playing in a bit of a free role but the past few years we've had alot of players who's best position is in that role but not sure Mick is too keen on it. There's certainly a strange turn of events a PR currently particularly with all this uncertainty, I don't want Mick to get rid of all our flair/creative players if he's not gonna be here in a few months!!!
I'd like to see what would happen if it got personal. I clearly can't understand the difference between banter and abuse. I'm just glad you 2 are against each other it's like WW3 when you agree on something and others disagree with you both!!!
I don't want Mick to get rid of all our flair/creative players if he's not gonna be here in a few months!!!
Which flair players are they ptc? This is what the majority of us have been wanting since the summer is flair and creativity. Wordy I thought was it and I've bigged him up for ages but for some reason he's either not impressing in training or MM has gone off him.

Wordy I thought was it and I've bigged him up for ages but for some reason he's either not impressing in training or MM has gone off him.
We don't have many but he's certainly brought in workers over flair/creative, some of those deserved to be let go but under PJ we needed a few more consistent/solid players because we had too many unpredictables now we've got alot. We've lost Scotland, Chopra, JET, Martin, even Drury, all on their day was capable of making something happen. And players like Hewitt, Taylor and Wordsworth haven't been used as much, they're all players capable of making something happen. Basically I don't want some of these players to be got rid of if we were to appoint a new more attack minded manager.
JET I was in a way sorry to see go. We all could see he had so much about him, just seemed it was when he could be bothered. Scotland wasn't getting playing time and he was at the age when playing was what he wanted. Chopra just didn't work. Another on his day was more than capable but too many issues and had no respect for the club. Martin, similar to JET but had a short fuse and Drury didn't get a chance. But I'm 100% with you on not wanting a new man to come in and ship out Taylor,Hewitt or Wordsworth. I'd desperately want to see them all given a decent chance.
And where is JET now? Languishing in a team that hasn't won a game so far in the League this season! JET = Thanks but no thanks! He flatters to deceive just like Wordy by all accounts. Flair players would be lovely but you need to spend some serious cash to acquire them and now that thw purse strings have been tightened you can kiss goodbye to one of those!
I wasn't arguing we should've really kept them but more we had those type of players and not really replaced them with creative players, I generally like to see a few players who excite in the team, who have that bit of quality to make things happen. And if Mick wasn't going to stick around I wouldn't want us to get rid of any more, I can accept it a little more if I knew he was going to stay long term because he's doing what he feels he needs to do.
yes like all the teams who spent millions to get them off us. JET doesn't seem to be doing so badly even if his team are.
Well - for whatever reason the Ipswich Town fans have finally awoken it would seem! This place has been like a morgue for at least a year now. This thread even looked dangerously like turning into an interesting debate at one point too!
An interesting piece based on the comments from Cole Skuse http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/23857/skuse-hoping-best-boss-stays Of particular interest is this quote “All the lads have been speaking about it in the dressing room but we’re none the wiser than anyone else. The manager’s the person to ask about that. What you know we know but of course it’s a concern." I am in no doubt that Mick is professional to the last and that the group we have are a good honest bunch but there must be some adverse affect on the group the longer this drags on, it has clearly affected us fans and will have some impact on the squad and staff even if they are trying desperately to not let it affect them.
I was incredibly unimpressed with his crap 'joke' sidestep of the question yesterday. I don't know if he realises it but the way he's behaving could be extremely damaging if he does end up staying.
Agreed, didn't Tottenham's season get derailed somewhat when 'Arry was being touted in the media as the next England manager (before Hodgson got the job)?
