Correct. I actually prefer Milner at right full back than Johnson who simply does not understand the art of defending properly.

Correct ^^^^^ this. The more i look at the England defenders the more i feel for Gary Cahill. Poor sod.

I've been saying for years Johnson can't defend. He's a 'failed winger' as Jamie Carragher would say and we really need solid, defensive full backs at this world cup to deal with the tricky wingers on show

You say that as if if makes you some sort of Noah/Stephen Hawking. The whole country has been saying it for 5 or 6 years.

The modern fullback's number 1 priority isn't to defend any more. The game has evolved.

Look at Barca with Alba and Alves, basically out and out wingers.

If he said wing-backs I'd be inclined to agree with him. A full-back's job has always been to defend and mark the wingers.

They are full backs though in a 4 at the back formation. They would be wing backs in a back 3/5

You can play as a wingback in a back 4, you do realise that? It just means more defensive duties are put on the two CBs and usually one of the CMs.

    The game is changing.

Wingers are marking fullbacks just as much as fullbacks are marking wingers.

I daresay that we wouldn't have had as much success last season if our fullbacks had defending as their number 1 priority.

Hang on a f**king minute and let's ignore the silly **** who's sole contribution was to pick up on a grammatical error.

If Woy is possibly thinking Johnson looks a liability( no **** Sherlock) then why isn't ****bag Smalling playing?

I thought the whole point of his ridiculous inclusion in the squad was to offer cover at RB?

Does Woy know what he's doing?

    Does he f**kers like.

And he looks like an owl.

Also, anyone who thinks a full backs primary role isn't defending is pissed.
