Forget his one 56, mine is coming out in 5 years time and that's going to be the real biggie, a blockbuster if ever there was one and PEA is going to write the sleeve notes, you can't get any better than that - 'Life in the Curbs Lane', watch out for it.
Sorry for forgetting you BRB there's also a few others who have been good to JA on here I'm sure. Has anybody stopped to think, however unlikely it is, the fact that JA was telling the truth about the book may also mean he was telling the truth about all these TV series' he's been banging on about?
Charlton Pat, I dont post on here really, but do read fairly regularly. I dont want to cause an argument, so am only going to post this once and then will leave. I just cant understand all this hatred towards Ackworth. Yes he can be irritating by creating stupid amounts of threads (dont click o them if you dont like them), and yes he goes on and on about a lot of rubbish, but he is a charlton fan, just like the rest of us. For someone to get so worked up about someone irritating them, on the internet, is pretty pathetic really. Something, most likely, is slightly wrong with him, so for him getting a book published is a very big achievement, and deserves more respect than the sarcastic stuff that you seem to be completely intend on giving him. To be honest, from what I've read you post more on here abusing Ackworth than actual footballing matters, which is fairly sad, and makes you come across as a bit of a bully to be honest. Ackworth is like marmite, some people find him amusing, some people cant stand him, but for those that cant stand him, for the life of me I cant understand why you cant just ignore his threads, its not rocket science. Anyway thats all I'm going to say, but I feel Ackworth deserves a lot more respect than he gets, everyone has their problems...but Ackworth is also clearly a very passionate charlton fan so leave him be. And I bet you buy his book!!!
As AH says, we could have deleted anything that was said. The. As ponders said, you'll always meet tossers. An honest question about why JA was banned from his site wasnt answered. I'm glad everyone saw through his post, but the back handed comments I can't comprehend. AH did EVERyTHING to ensure JA had a "home". Hell, he went up against members from the old 606 to help him. Now he is being the voice of reason, understand why I can't leave it like that. AH wanted him to be another fan, and when he wasn't, fought for him. So to have some Johnny come lately hang around and lure JA back... It doesn't sit well: AH gave him a home when everyone told him to jog on. That- pisses me off.
That's fine that's your view. For the record and to correct one or two things you say, I don't post personal abuse or insults but am not really interested in the book and the endless threads/posts promoting it; I don't see that as hatred but as irritation and overkill of the site. I merely pointed out that if I were to create threads about a book and then post endlessly about it, people would quite rightly get irritated and we all have our problems in life but do not always use excuses to explain our behaviour. There are lots of ways of getting books published these days and there are other fans who do precisely that without making such a song and dance on the web about it. Secondly if you re-read my posts, I was pointing out the hypcrosy of the administrator from another site coming on here attacking fans who get irritated by the rules constantly being broken, eg creating a plethora of threads when there is one for all of his articles which he agreed to post on, when this same person was not that long ago posting a litany of insults about JA himself and how he was banned for that site and woudn't be allowed on there again. Perhaps you should try and dig up that thread to see the language being used, now that really was personal abuse, and then you can compare it with mine except you can't read the archived posts on there now unless you create an account. I think people have every right to point out the rules and why they need to be adhered to otherwise it gets a free for all and there are many others who are also irritated by this behaviour but I never post personal abuse, perhaps you can come back with some evidence. If you re-read my posts you'll find I have created a thread about a footballer and commented on discrimination in football amongst other issues however I expect those matters do not interest you sufficiently to reply anyway, perhaps that's why you don't post on here.
I'm not going to lie, I haven't read all of the posts through, but pat hasn't "gone after" JA. He isn't a fan- sure, but all he asked for was some consistency when it comes to the rules. And he was right, as was DVD(who has left and a member I would love to come back). Some have targeted JA(none who I believe are fully fledged members of N606), but pat isnt one. We respect CAFC fans, and every member on here, whether we agree or not,we are the best fans I know. I'll admit I have my issues with some (typical and ponders will agree) but when they talk CAFC, I wouldn't swap them for anything. I don't care what he says about me as a mod, but I know AH has done everything. That's a sore point, so I will get in to a slanging match if required.
Thank you SuperC, what annoyed me about that post was the accusation of personal abuse which is very different from expressing irritation. You also did the right thing in ensuring the rules were enforced with the temporary ban and deserve more credit for it.
Credit where credit is due JA on the book, I'm stunned to be honest. But you still talk some crap, we all know that and you'll probably still fill this place with your rubbish. But again, well done. Now I want to read it, I just imagine it being like one of your posts (KIDDING). I'm staying out of the debate here, but it makes for an interesting read.
I don't think it was a deliberate accusation- AH just wants to take the high road with the original post- which I agree and admire him for. I don't care what he might say about us as mods- its when the integrity of our posters is called in to question.
Personally I'm not bothered By JA, but don't bother to join in the debate, just don't pay much attention to him. Are there others like me I wonder. Is it just the angry brigade who post about him or is everyone irritated by him?
Must admit , havnt been one of JA's biggest members of his fan club, but, like most posters, well done with the book - i'll be buying ! Yes, got very pissed off with his postings -prob mostly when he decided his 7 day ban was only really a 5 day ban - but, i ban his posts and dont read his drivel.I hope his book is better - else, JA, do you promise me my money back? or at least donate it to our common love - CAFC?

stu u will like the book i promise you its well written and has some lovely memories even a page set up on c life re the book aparantly getting good reviews by people at the club so if they like it im happy
